Do you still hold hands with your other half?

Just been sat in the car, watching couples coming in and out of school (parents evening) and noticed how few parents hold hands while they're walking together.
I've been with DH over two decades but we still do.
Just a casual observation. I'm not doing a survey or anything Grin

I don’t think we’ve ever done that tbh.

RedRobyn2021 · 04/04/2022 18:26

Yes usually as we're falling asleep

nutellingyou · 04/04/2022 18:27

Yes but we hardly ever kiss so it's not as romantic as you'd think...

LeroyJenkinssss · 04/04/2022 18:28

Absolutely - together over 20 yrs. my parents do too (45 yrs together) but my PIL don’t and have been together for the same amount of time too.

Lifesonebigparty · 04/04/2022 18:29

@RedRobyn2021

Yes usually as we're falling asleep
This is us too. 😍. We do hold hands outside but not often. Bern together 12 years.
KitKattaktik · 04/04/2022 18:29

We do. Plus kiss in public! Grin

Thursa · 04/04/2022 18:30

We do. Married 37 years.

Hugasauras · 04/04/2022 18:41

Sometimes but now there's usually DD between us asking to be swung Grin

DoWhatYouLike · 04/04/2022 18:47

We're in our 60s, been married almost 42 years. Still hold hands.

DramaAlpaca · 04/04/2022 18:49

Yes, married 32 years.

JanetLanesDaughter · 04/04/2022 18:49

I'd love to but it's too much hassle, same sex couple and we get stared at. The longer we are together, the more I'd love that simple pleasure.

A580Hojas · 04/04/2022 18:51

Don't think I've ever held hands with my dh (together since 1991) - I find it quite cringe, tbh. In anyone.

Eightiesfan · 04/04/2022 18:52

Yes, together 20 years and we always hold hands when walking.

Riverlee · 04/04/2022 18:53

Yes, we do

Doingmybest12 · 04/04/2022 19:34

We hold hands on long walks, day trips out , evenings out but wouldn't really want to be seen holding hands at parents evening or somewhere else at a formal thing to do with the children. When I see established couples always, always holding hands or arms around each other I wonder what that is about , ownership? But sadly I am a cynic.

IncompleteSenten · 04/04/2022 19:35

Never have. I'm really not much of a toucher 😁

GirlMum93 · 04/04/2022 19:36

We are late twenties, nope lol

GirlMum93 · 04/04/2022 19:36

We've been together 10+ years

mydogisthebest · 04/04/2022 19:40

Yes, just about always when we are out. Married 42 years.

My parents were married for 68 years when they died and they held hands while out and while sitting watching tv. I thought it was lovely

CornishGem1975 · 04/04/2022 19:44

Yes, all the time.

fourofwands · 04/04/2022 19:45

Occasionally, if on holiday or on a relaxing walk or something. We would never hold hands coming out of parents evening (or any other mundane activity), that just seems ridiculous to me. Been married 10 years.

caringcarer · 04/04/2022 19:47

Married 17 years and mostly hold hands when out and about walking. Not in supermarkets though.

Usingit · 04/04/2022 19:49

I never have, it's irritating to other people if you are out and doing this as it takes up a lot of pavement

Ahhhhhbisto · 04/04/2022 19:53

Nope! The height difference between us makes it all awkward and uncomfortable Grin

Simonjt · 04/04/2022 19:54

Yes, most of the time when we’re at home, I’m essentially a limpet.
