Bunglie's Gerbil Cage

As Bunglie's Box is getting so big and turned a little sour, I thought somewhere smaller and more bijou would suit. We can still suspend it above Mumsnet Towers if you like

It's all clear now

good!

Bunglie -you're not neglected!!! In fact, between eating sucked m&m's, playing with HJ and attending to your every whim, I've hardly had time to post on here!!! I'll keep putting voddie in your water bottle and keeping you topped up with choc for your natural!! Bonkerz and wwb can change your bedding though - they never clean under their nails anyway!!!

FeastofStevenmom · 02/12/2004 09:42

and you've still not told us if you are vulcanologist? always assumed you were a music teacher!!!

WigWamBam · 02/12/2004 09:43

Oi! You speak for yourself, wsk! As if I don't do enough cleaning around here ... who was it that cleaned up the gerbil mess, eh? And all of those squashed snails that someone threw at Bunglie's box? And who cleans up after you when your Tena aren't up to the job?

wwb - and you do such a good job that you're the only one I trust to clean out Bunglie well - i don't even trust myself because you're so good!!

WigWamBam · 02/12/2004 09:51

It's somebody else's turn - she makes ever such a mess, you know

OP posts:
wobblystarryknicks · 02/12/2004 09:52

But no-one else could do it like you - we'd make a big mistake then she'd have to be carted down the vets, and that means big bills and having to get her into the Bunglie travel cage, then having to apologise to the vet when he gets bitten, then put up with Bunglie sulking for a fortnight, then.......no, its so much trouble - you just clean her out again!!!

WigWamBam · 02/12/2004 09:56

I could put up with her sulking for a fortnight, it's getting her into the travel box and carting her off to the vets that's the real problem. If you thought getting a cat into a travel box was bad enough, you've never tried to do it with a Bunglie

Tell you what, I'll give you full written instructions on how to do it properly, then everything will be OK.

OP posts:
wobblystarryknicks · 02/12/2004 09:57

Exactly!! That's why we can't have it!!!

And I already feed and water her, and tickle her under the chin occassionally so I'm not doing that too!!!

WigWamBam · 02/12/2004 10:09

It's a very simple procedure once you get used to it.

  1. Remove Bunglie from gerbil cage, put her brakes on so she can't escape and use a pair of WK's handcuffs to attach her to something solid.

  2. Put on full Army issue NBC suit, rubber gloves and gas mask to minimise risk of contamination.

  3. Take tools into cage (you will need shovel, pick axe, air freshener, large pack of baby wipes and a plunger).

  4. Remove all old bedding using above tools, dispose of safely in chemical waste skip outside cage. Scrape up any remaining residue with shovel, add to skip and call Army to arrange safe removal. They will probably arrive by helicopter in full riot gear, don't be alarmed, this is just a precaution after what happened last time. At this point you may need to administer a sedative to keep Bunglie quiet.

  5. Spray air freshener. If this doesn't have the desired effect, the number of the fumigator is above the cupboard where the batteries are kept.

  6. Put new bedding into cage. Bunglie should still be sedated enough for you to put her back into the cage without too much damage.
