Actually it makes a change from all the other houses in London their insipid neutral palace. Its a beautiful house and I do like the area but goodness me its very stripey and loud. I bet the kids love it 😃www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/121573241#/?channel=RES_BUY

Ps I cant afford this house or any house or flat in London. Im just daydreaming and looking for decorating inspiration.

@IAmNeverWrong

Ugh - it looks like a liquorice allsort!
Excellent comparison. Yep, it looks like a box of liquorice allsorts.

Why nearly £3 MILLON? It's not even detached.

MurmuratingStarling · 31/03/2022 14:52

@ThePurpleOctopus

Why on earth don't people take down personal photos, or why doesn't the photographer/agent blur out faces? There are photos of children and their names :(
I noticed them too.
DisforDarkChocolate · 31/03/2022 14:54

It's not my style, it's actually lacking in colour with so much black and white.

I think I could easily make it mine.

DogInATent · 31/03/2022 14:55

Nothing there that 30 litres of magnolia and a pressure washer couldn't fix.

Brownlongearedbat · 31/03/2022 15:00

@SheWoreYellow I am certain it is fake grass. It is far too even in colour and texture, and the bit at the top looks like it has been recently laid as it is a bit greener (hasn't faded in the sun) and you can see a joining line across it. Also, look how close it is to the side fence at the top of the garden, looks like carpet against a skirting board.

Davethecat2001 · 31/03/2022 15:03

I quite like it, but then again my taste is a but out there anyway!

I'd agree that it isn't that colourful though.. more Pop Arty.. i think there is more colour in my house!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 31/03/2022 15:03

The whole lot is hideous apart from the bath. Trouble is a lot of it can't just be painted over. Kitchen counters, flooring etc all crazy money to replace it.

I'd have loved to see the look on the EAs face first time they went in

Gonnagetgoing · 31/03/2022 15:07

@MarineBlue33

It's the location - Hampstead Garden Suburb/ Highgate borders. Just off the Bishops Avenue AKA millionaires row.
@MarineBlue33 - surely the house should be worth a lot more then?!

My aunt and uncle used to live and manage a Jewish old people's nursing home in the Bishops Avenue and as a family we visited there a lot.

Once when I was young and in second job someone who would they were posh/well off and was older (a man) was asking me where I'd been that weekend. Me: "to see my aunt and uncle". Him: "Oh where was that then?" Me: "the Bishops Avenue". Him: "In London, Hampstead area." me: "Yes just near xxx" him: "Shock". I deliberately didn't let know the snobbish twat know that aunt/uncle weren't millionaires just let him believe that!

Gonnagetgoing · 31/03/2022 15:09

I looked at one of the master bedrooms and all I could think of (despite the large bed) was 'that's a bit small for the bedroom isn't it?!'. Must be because of the extensions.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 31/03/2022 15:12

Oh dear.

All too much for me-makes me feel a bit sea sick tbh

SoupDragon · 31/03/2022 15:14

I do love seeing houses that aren't one vast expanse of greige. However, some of these choices are going to cost a lot to remove (although as a percentage of the price, probably fine I guess!)

Never fails to make me laugh to see all the "ooooh! I'm so shocked at London prices!" posts though.

Aposterhasnoname · 31/03/2022 15:17

Bit too stripy for me. I bloody love that bath though.

Wouldntitbenicetobeinyourshoes · 31/03/2022 15:17

I can’t see a proper living room with a normal sofa.
Those chairs look like the uncomfortable offering someone would give you at an interview if they were trying to unnerve you!

So many high gloss surfaces…imagine having to polish out the fingerprints every 5 mins.

I thought that too, about not seeing a normal 'comfortable' room. But looks like there's a separate living room they don't have a photo of. Wonder why.....
This is what you can buy near me for 1 million less! I can’t believe the prices down south www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/121733594#/?channel=RES_BUY
Lovely but... neighbours - aargh! For that money I want seclusion.

Cyw2018 · 31/03/2022 15:21

I've just shown my DD (4) the pictures and she frickin loves it, especially the pink bath.

MakingShiteMemories · 31/03/2022 15:21

Goodness.

GregBrawlsInDogJail · 31/03/2022 15:24

I like it. It's cheery Grin

ifIwerenotanandroid · 31/03/2022 15:25

Love: dark wood herringbone floor, black bathroom with pink bath, metal seat round tree
Hate: everything else

Why is there dining seating for about 20 people in the same room?

jeremyjamjam · 31/03/2022 15:27

I love all the "stuff" and colourful pictures. I'm not a fan of high gloss, and I hate the kitchen work surface, but there's loads that I do love.
It's shockingly expensive but it's a shockingly expensive location. I live in a very average London street, nowhere near Hampstead Heath or the Bishops Avenue, but a nicely done up house here would go for a million (we bought many years ago!). It's crazy but it is what it is.

EthelTheAardvark · 31/03/2022 15:44

The strobing effect on all those black and white stripes must be quite challenging for people prone to headaches and seizures. If I had that sort of money I'd still be knocking a few £100K off my offer to cover the need for full redecoration plus new kitchen and bathroom units.

InFiveMins · 31/03/2022 15:44

I actually think it's fine. The only room I strongly dislike is the main bedroom as I hate black and red together, but the rest of the house is nice, a bit eccentric yes, but nice.

BreatheAndFocus · 31/03/2022 15:51

Those stripes are nauseating - I genuine.y couldn’t cope with that room 🤢 The lips are tacky and where they are (bathroom and tablecloth) makes them particularly yuk IMO.

So, not so much the colours, more the designs.

TargusEasting · 31/03/2022 15:54

It screams to me Pink Migraleve.

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 31/03/2022 15:55

Apart from the stripes, I quite like it!

I wouldn't pick it for myself if I was decorating but I love how bright and cheerful it is.
