Awful, only 33.
Rock on in heaven, Tom.

So terribly sad, my thought are with his wife, children and family. He was so brave.

Ohfgsnotagain · 30/03/2022 18:35

Life is cruel.

I worked in a hospice for a while and two patients that stick in my mind 20 years later are a newlywed couple, he had a brain tumour, and his wife was standing outside the door to his room with a newborn baby in her arms just sobbing, it was heartbreaking. Another was a single mum with two little girls who came in to see her every morning before school, she would stand at the door and wave goodbye as they skipped off to school shouting ‘bye mummy’ completely oblivious to what was to come.

Life is so cruel and unfair and can be over so quickly.

Butchyrestingface · 30/03/2022 18:37

Family member died from the same many years ago. I thought things were bad last week when I saw the photos of his eye, but hoped I was wrong. Sad

Bagelsandbrie · 30/03/2022 18:39

Life can be so cruel. So young and seemed such a lovely husband and father with such young children. Just horrendously sad.

Madeintowerhamlets · 30/03/2022 18:39

Oh no Sad, as someone with advanced cancer I find this kind of news even harder to take. Another one gone too young. Fuck cancer

NellesVilla · 30/03/2022 18:39

Terrible news. My condolences to his young family x

oakleaffy · 30/03/2022 18:55

I didn’t know of Tom, but it is a tragedy when anyone young dies.

Must be devastating for his parents and family.

ChicCroissant · 30/03/2022 19:00

33 is no age, what a loss for his family and friends. Such young children too.

SueSaid · 30/03/2022 19:00

Terribly sad. I'm not a grief vampire by any stretch but the footage on online of recent gigs where he is sat and the rest of the band were singing 'im glad you came' and 'forever' is really poignant to see. He seemed such a lovely bloke as do the rest of the band.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 30/03/2022 19:02

It's awful. I like a few of their songs and after DD heard them she loves them too. He seems like a lovely guy and so young. Thinking of his young family x

mocktail · 30/03/2022 19:04

Very sad. His children are only 1 and 2 Sad

BookkeeperBobby · 30/03/2022 19:06

This is very sad, his poor family. My kids liked this band a lot when they were younger. They always seemed like nice lads and they did some decent pop tunes. What a terrible shame.

ISpyCobraKai · 30/03/2022 19:23

I saw The Wanted earlier this month, Tom wasn't there, he was having treatment in Spain, but it was clear how much his bandmates and the fans loved him.
RIP Tom.

Charlavail · 30/03/2022 19:25

Very sad. We loved their music in our early 20s and went to see them a few times. I've always felt a fondness for them as we are the same age and have lots of names in common between our family and theirs.

CaMePlaitPas · 30/03/2022 19:25

Oh no, rest in peace.

FlamingoQueen · 30/03/2022 19:35

It is just so sad, so young.

Misspacorabanne · 30/03/2022 21:39

Rest in peace tom! Free from pain now! But so so sad.... He looked so frail on the tour.

Overtheroadroundthecorner · 30/03/2022 23:27

This news today has gutted me. How truly unfair.

AnyFucker · 30/03/2022 23:34

Just 💔

tunnocksreturns2019 · 30/03/2022 23:42

This made me so sad. Brain cancer is just hideous - took my DH in his 30s too. Leading cause of cancer death in under 40s - so many many years of life lost, and years of missing them for those of us left behind. Thinking of his wife and family Sad

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 30/03/2022 23:50

I’m so desperately sad about this tonight- such young children, everything set up for a great life and then bastard cancer.

Misspacorabanne · 31/03/2022 07:48

@tunnocksreturns2019 so sorry. Flowers

Habitatty282 · 31/03/2022 14:11

tunnocksreturns2019 I'm sorry to hear you lost your DH so young. Life is so unfair 💐

I lost my mum to it. It's just so cruel.

tunnocksreturns2019 · 31/03/2022 19:39

It is. So cruel how it goes for younger people, and that even ‘gold standard’ treatment can only give someone around 18 months. DH had 3.5 years which was really unusual. We knew it was terminal for all that time. A very difficult way to live, but still much better than now, without him.
