Very sad news. From the different reports that were coming out, I think you could read between the lines that this was imminent, but it is so awful to hear. RIP Tom.

A wife and two young kids left behind, 33 is so young, poor soul

That is such a shame I saw them on TV talking about their tour it is so sad.

This is heart breaking. My heart skipped a beat when I saw the title.

This news has really upset me. I knew he was terminal but didn't think it would be this quick. His poor wife and children, I just can't even imagine

This has just made me cry, we are of a similar age with similar age children, just looked mine in the eyes and thought of the awful sadness his will be going through and how they don't deserve a second of it. Life is so unbelievably cruel 😭

Nathan Sykes is a local lad and made lots of local press. My then teenage DD's loved The Wanted.

Incredibly sad news. My thoughts are with his wife and young children and with Tom's friends and family. I cant imagine what he's been through.

There's a beautiful video on YouTube of him performing Gold Forever in Manchester on their recent tour. He was obviously very ill but the love and support from his band mates was wonderful to see. I'll see if I can share the link as it's really touching to watch. He was obviously very loved.

At the last concert they did when he was in the wheelchair you could tell he didn’t have long. Sadly I lost a friend to the same thing. He always believed he would cure it or Atleast get into a stable condition and that’s what I think kept him going with his family. Poor poor man

It’s so sad

Sadly I was expecting to hear this news soon. It was obvious from his appearance on tour that he'd deteriorated a lot. I'm a big pop fan and loved The Wanted and Girls Aloud, so it's gutting to lose both Sarah Harding and Tom Parker, within a year of each other, to cancer in their 30s. Just really unfair.

So so sad I thought maybe he would lived with it for quite a few years. Although I did think the images of him on stage recently he looked very fragile.
He was actually in one of my classes at college. He was a cheeky chappy type and a nice person. He didn't last very long in college I suspect he left because he joined the Wanted. I remember being shocked a year or so after college when I saw his face on a poster.

Such sad news, he was so young. His poor family and friends, I can’t even attempt to imagine what they’re going through.

I saw some pics of the tour recently and it was clear he was very ill indeed. The band seemed so close and supportive. Thoughts with his family, the band and his friends. Rest in peace Tom.
