Bobbysocks song I could easily see playing in an arthouse film featuring a wood panelled hotel where someone has blown their brains out for no reason and the camera pans in to the needle going round the record. Sixties creepy.

One Step Further

BOOTS52 · 30/03/2022 00:03

I still love the song What's Another Year by Johnny Logan.. When we were kids was a big treat to be allowed to stay up for the Eurovision.

Crunched · 30/03/2022 00:04

Fairytale by Alexander Ryback

CocoHeart · 30/03/2022 00:06

Loved spirit in the sky by Keinno in 2019.

Brokenseas · 30/03/2022 00:07

@WeDontShutUpAboutBruno

So many, I might need a top 10.

Spirit in the Sky by KEiiNO

Rise Like a Pheonix by Concita Wurst (sp?)

Its My Life by Cezar

Fairytale by Alexander Ryback

Where Are You by Immani

Love Me Back by Can Banomo

Be My Guest by Gaitanna (sp?)

Dark side by blind channel last year was amazing too as was Tout l'univers by Gjons Tears

This year so far I'm loving Lights off by We are Domi.

Love Be My Guest! It occasionally pops up on my shuffle and it's a joy. Been thinking about it recently as it was Ukrainian iirc?

Also get last year's Russian Women stuck in my head a lot.

Hasselhoffsheadband · 30/03/2022 00:08

I remember when Ireland kept winning it in the 90s - and then along came Love Shine a Light!

Its making me feel all nostalgic.

AugustRose · 30/03/2022 00:10

Johnny Logan Hold Me Now - I think I bought it, I was 13 and loved it.
Making your mind up by Bucks Fizz is my ultimate favourite, I remember making up dances with my friends at school for ages afterwards, we would have been about 7/8 Grin

AugustRose · 30/03/2022 00:11

@SlappingPeopleAtTheOscars My lovely horse was brilliant!

Ladypuggerz · 30/03/2022 00:13

Love Hard Rock Hallelujah, Euphoria, Dancing Lasha Tumbai and Rise Like a Phoenix as mentioned above.

Have a soft spot for Katrina and the Waves and Dana International's Diva as they won the first contests I remember watching.

OH (and I) loves Måns Zelmerlöw's Heroes (OH is not easily pleased by anything Eurovision!)

Loved SHUM by Ukraine's Go_A from last year's contest. Was hoping it would win but it was a strong year for many. Still listen to it regularly.

Also these two have always stuck with me and I thought were underrated!!

Mouth and Macneal - I see a star

Another for Vicky Leandros. Also, Catherine Ferry - Un, deux, trois.

sandgrown · 30/03/2022 00:24

All kinds of everything by Dana and Volare came from Eurovision but I can’t remember who sang it .

SausagePourHomme · 30/03/2022 00:25

Been listening to dadi freyr all year, i love their 10 years song and the one they originally entered,

SlappingPeopleAtTheOscars · 30/03/2022 00:35

Volare is a really really old song. Must be older than Eurovision. Someone's probably sung it at one point though.

Not Eurovision but I have a question : does anyone remember in the 70s there was quite a spate of Euro disco songs getting into the charts? You'd buy the English version of the single and the b side would be eg french or Italian or whatever? My Ottowan DISCO single has a French b side for eg, but there were others.

Was this a sign of EURO BRAINWASHING or something, in the early days of the Common Market?

SwedishEdith · 30/03/2022 00:41

Volare was the Italian Eurovision entry in 1958

SteakExpectations · 30/03/2022 00:43

It has to be

SlappingPeopleAtTheOscars · 30/03/2022 00:53

Oh god I just love that bit where you see the horse face all in technicolour, it ends me 🤣🤣

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 30/03/2022 01:02

I don't think it's the best, but I still have a soft spot for the very catchy Latvian cake . I remember the Eurovision thread that year and we were all disappointed it didn't get through the semis!

Ihaveamagicwand · 30/03/2022 01:26

Rasmussen singing Higher Ground for Denmark in 2018 for me! Can't do the link to YouTube but it's there if you want to listen.
