No, they spray stuff about. All over the seat for starters, i antibac my friends bathroom every time I visit, it's not cleaner than paper for the room

I live in the ME and concur, they are excellent. Also the plumbing here doesn't cope with lots of paper so in that sense they're essential.

It's possible to use them in a way they wouldn't increase UTIs, and god knows what you'd have to be doing to 'spray shit' round the room.

I always thought I’d be more likely to try a mooncup if we had these.

I used one during a liveaboard diving holiday in Egypt. I was initially apprehensive but after I'd used it a couple of times, I thought it was great.

We should all be washing our arses after going for a number 2, whether it's using a lota (a simple jug of water) or the full bum gun OP is referring to. Paper only doesn't clean poo, but if you're happy walking round with a shitty arse carry on 😳

I have one but you do need paper too, poo doesn't come off without a bit of a scrub, as anyone who has tried to get dog poo off pram wheels with just a watering can of water will agree.

I agree I feel the need to completely undress before using what is known as a "bum gun" by teenage males in our family

Never used one but I supplement the paper with preparation h wipes

Also fab for washing out a potty without having to use the sink.
