It's Sunday. I'm bored! Do you have any celebrity friends as in close enough to have them on Watsapp etc. Come on give us a clue, maybe some MNers will even be brave enough to tell us names!

OP posts:
Yourcatisnotsorry · 28/03/2022 18:56

Someone from Corrie, someone from holby and a boxer who also made a couple of films. They are all tossers 😂

LetsGoCrazyPurpleBanana · 28/03/2022 18:57

Georgeous Pizza Yes sounds like it :)
I grew up in South Ascot so knew quite a few celebs,Russ Abbot and his sons,Zak Starkey,Robert Plant etc. I also babysat Ted Rogers grandsons.

Later on I knew the barman from only fools and horses as we were neighbors.

@Justleaveitblankthen

Unfortunately, PPS who are being unnecessarily vague "Actor in a long running Netflix series" Hmm You are making what could be a fun and interesting thread into a pointless one.

One of my closest buddies is Melanie Chisholm from the Spice girls.

My ex went to school with her! I met her in the pub once just before they released Wannabe. Said she was in a band and they were going to be the next big thing. She seemed lovely ☺
@FromDespairToHere really!! Well you'll be pleased to know he's a proper gent! Quiet though..!!! Will always speak to people but does like to keep a low profile.
I watched his Facebook live the other week. I got his autograph after a gig once too, I was determined to be cool but I accidentally shouted "I LOVE YOU PLEASE SIGN THIS" and he burst out laughing at me

PinotGrigioCat · 28/03/2022 19:00

I did a few tequila shots with Fish from
Marillion back in the day - I came up to his belly button as he's v tall and I'm not 🤣 Very nice guy! Steve Harley (of Cockney Rebel fame) was a bit aloof.

ItsMeRhondaFromPS129 · 28/03/2022 19:01

@FromDespairToHere hahahaha!!! What a way to play it cool 🤣

Magik01 · 28/03/2022 19:03

@Scienceseeker ooo okay! Anna and Mark? Lily and Rich? The Hinchs? Am I close? 😂

Tigertigertigertiger · 28/03/2022 19:03

Fearne Cotton, if you are reading this, I’ve never forgiven you for introducing grown man Leon Jackson at a children in need night as
“Little Leon Jackson “

Notanothernamechange69 · 28/03/2022 19:03

My husband is friends with Robin Askwith who is lovely and as much fun as you would immagine he lights up to he room when he walks in

DoctorManhattan · 28/03/2022 19:04

I vaguely know Patrick Kielty through some people, very nice guy and down to earth.

Although I don’t know them myself, I’m friends with someone who used to work on Top Gear and knew Clarkson/May/Hammond well. He said Hammond and May were lovely and Clarkson was just as abrasive as he seems in the media.

notbloodylikely · 28/03/2022 19:05

Hoping to reply to @Want2beme - was his brother Tom?

Laiste · 28/03/2022 19:07

A grim one:

My maternal grandfather was 'friends' with Christie the serial killer.

I put friends in commas because my granddad never actually liked him. They were both members of a small card club which used to meet at each other's houses in turn. My grand father and the other members managed to always find a way to skip meeting at Christie's house as it stank so badly it would make them all feel ill.

:/

Oh wow, that's cool but creepy at the same time!

Joe.

@Geezabreak82

I used to be good friends with Chris Rock but we recently fell out after I slapped him.
Grin
Sazzasez · 28/03/2022 19:15

That was in reply to “well done Ken”.

My bro is not called Ken.

And one of these days I’ll work out how to nest replies.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 28/03/2022 19:17

The original Just William (Adrian Dannatt) came to stay at ours for a few days, as a friend of a friend invited him. Nice guy, never seen him since.

I know, twas a thousand years ago. It is all I have to offer.

HaggisBurger · 28/03/2022 19:18

When I worked in shopping centre management I once did a lease for David van Day from Dollar (it was for an ice cream kiosk if I recall). I’d like to say I did one for Theresa and it was a bazaar but that would be a lie ….

I have Jonathan Ross’s mobile number in my phone from a charity thing I worked on years ago. He was very very nice & generous with his time. But it’s still his number (I checked on on WhatsApp 😉)

Sazzasez · 28/03/2022 19:20

@DameHelena - Oscar for editing. Not a celeb as he’s behind the scenes, but I’m v proud. He’s been nominated twice before.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 28/03/2022 19:20

@Slatkater, JM?

thecatsthecats · 28/03/2022 19:20

My SIL is a family friend of Leighanne from Little Mix. She told us about her being pregnant with twins way before it was public.

Fantastic achievement! Well done him. (You can't nest quotes, btw. If you tried to quote this post, you won't be able to do it, because I've quoted yours.)

RuralDwelling · 28/03/2022 19:23

@littlemisskt

Only my brother but he’s only famous in his sport which is quite niche (sidecar road racing) and most people have no idea but he was GB champion a few years ago and races at Isle of Man TT
Does your brother have the initials AF?
GingerWit · 28/03/2022 19:23

Don't know if I would call them a celebrity, but DH grew up with the creator/artist/animator of 'Bluey'. They grew up here in South Wales, went to school together, had sleep overs etc because the Brother was my husband's best friend and best man at our wedding.

We have them on FB! My kids love Bluey as well.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 28/03/2022 19:25

Going off at a slight tangent, I was listening to Sound of the 70s on Radio 2 yesterday and Johnnie Walker said at a recent benefit concert at the Albert Hall he and his wife were in a box with a few other people, some of whom they recognised, others they didn't. His wife heard one of the unknowns saying 'I don't think we've ever played the Albert Hall' and said to him 'Oh, are you in a band then? Would I have heard of it?' The stranger smiled and said 'U2'. Grin Turned out to be Adam Clayton, the bassist.

In the unlikely eventuality that I found myself in a similar position, that would be me. I'm hopeless at recognising people and putting a name to a face.
