What do you think of beetroot? Do you like it or not?

I recently made a beetroot salad for lunch and my partner said - it's sounds lovely but without the beetroot. He hates beetroot.

I recently came across a top 20 or a top 10 world's most hateddl foods. I forget what I came across or if it was a TikTok with the list of foods. I nodded my head along with agreement with many on the list but number 1 took me by surprise. The number 1 food hated by a lot of people was beetroot.

I love beetroot and come to think of it, not many around me like it. My family hates beetroot as does my partner and also some people in work hate it too.

What do you think of beetroot? Do you like it or not?

If anyone fancies it, Antonio Carluccio has a fabulous beetroot recipe, layering beetroot, smoked ham, bechamel sauce, (and we add leeks). It is divine!

Love it - eat it more when dieting as it's tasty and filling but not very many calories. Grew up eating cheese and beetroot sandwiches 😋

I've got a jar like that (not the same but a beetroot face jar) I love him.

I love beetroot and don't mind if it's pickled or fresh, it's all lovely. Was given some lacto fermented beetroot a while back and that was lovely too, tart and crunchy. Going to grow and ferment some myself this year.

A favourite light supper is crispy chicken wings with beetroot and bread and butter. Bloody delicious.

Love it - make a fantastic savoury Tarte tatin with beetroot, red onion, feta.

Beetroot sandwiches on thickly buttered white bread with white pepper are delicious.

I like fresh raw beetroot grated in salads, roasted beetroot & those Chilli ones from the supermarket chilled veg section. Don't like the jarred vinegar stuff, too strong.
I love roasting whole beetroot with cumin seeds & a drizzle of balsamic vinegar.

I love it fresh or in jars.

I make beetroot and goats cheese tarts which are lovely. Also often have beetroot sandwich using thick white bread.

There is an indian restaurant in Covent Garden that does a beetroot curry. It is really nice but I don't like that it turns the rice pink

I adore beetroot in every form. I've never had any I didn't like.

I like the small beets pickled with chili vinegar available from all sensible supermarkets. Yum.

Beetroot and mature cheddar go together so beautifully.

Roasted with Brussels sprouts, parsnips and red onion. So good. Or pickle your own.

I like beetroot fresh and in a jar, parents got me some jars of it ages ago along with sauerkraut so I eat it!
