Is anyone starting a diet today?

Just looking for company.
I’m sick of my extra weight and want to get rid of it now. I’m trying to do intermittent fasting along with protein and veg mostly and cut out sugar except for the very occasional treat.
I’m also planning on going for a 20 minute walk and 10 min weights daily. It’s about all I can manage at the moment but I hope it will make a difference.

Lots of exercise at work yesterday and more today
drinking loads of water so lots of running to the loo! Loving the sunny weather

Banana for breakfast

Strawberry protein shake for lunch (I use the protein world meal replacements made with water) I feel so full after them

Dinner will be salad of some sort. That's all I can manage on saxenda and I'm on the second lowest dose so doubt I will need to increase it next week at all

Lobworm · 23/03/2022 13:54

The kilo has gone! Confused so I’m back to where I started. I always forget the extra fruit & veg plays merry hell with my insides so I have to keep in more bread than I would like.

@ParanoidGynodroid

Yes *@CannaBelieve* it is harder when you're older!

I've just started HRT though which has made me feel a big more zingy... hopefully that'll help me get more active and stay focused.

Does it make you more bingey? Interesting , I have been quite bad since I started a year ago!

I’m
49

Diets do not work ! You will just put more back on. Lear the house of sugar and fat. Buy healthy food only and eat lots of it Change the way you eat. Fill up on sweet potatoe spinach rice chicken fish peppers loads of fruit and vegetables. Chuck it all In a pan and make stir fry's it's delicious food. Snack on carrots and peoppers and rice cakes. Drink loads of water. Stick to this and you will succeed it's not a diet it's changing what you eat
This is fab advice xxx
@Millicent2022 I've got an app called Value Diary. It's not as good as the real WW app but it works.
Ooh thanks x

ParanoidGynodroid · 23/03/2022 21:22

@Millicent2022 maybe you need a review of your HRT if it's making you not feel good? There are lots of options.
I had terrible anxiety before I started which made me comfort eat. And now I feel better I'm feeling mentally strong enough to have the self discipline to exercise and eat better.

(That said, I didn't quite get around to the treadmill today Blush)

That is, quite literally, a diet that you have just described.
MrsMingech · 24/03/2022 10:17

Scales this morning tell me I'm 11stone 4.4lb

First goal 10st 10lb this will make me no longer over weight.

Next goal 10st 4lb

StormyWaterCloud · 24/03/2022 22:18

@collieresponder88 that's very sensible and very much like being on WW! I lost almost 2st on it then started eating full fat and processed foods. It goes back on a LOT quicker than it comes off.
Is it wrong I feel sad I won't be able to eat junk more than just the odd day in the future?
In other news stayed on plan today, had a delicious red lentil and butternut squash Dahl with a salmon fillet and broccoli. After 4 days back on plan I'm feeling full up at last! And my skin is clearing up a bit too.
I'm going to try to really focus on that side of things. Processed food really does make me feel sluggish and bloated. Plus I seem to get hungrier quicker when ive eaten chicken nuggets and chips for example, compared to something healthier. Why is that I wonder? Any ideas?

StormyWaterCloud · 24/03/2022 22:19

@MrsMingech I love that you've broken it down into smaller goals. Mine is to get back into the next stone bracket- 11st+. Do people have a fixed weigh day or just weigh each day? I weigh each day but only record weekly!

MrsMingech · 25/03/2022 15:28

I weigh twice a week, the morning after the fast.

HerbErtlinger · 25/03/2022 15:45

I've lost 6lbs this week!

DepthOfTheAbyss · 26/03/2022 07:35

6lbs loss is amazing. Well done @HerbErtlinger
Well done on the kilo @Lobworm

It’s the weekend and this is when it gets tough. Especially when you’re given food gifts and breakfasts or celebrating Mother’s Day with meals.
My plan is to stick with the intermittent fasting and just be reasonable this weekend. Have a good weekend everyone.

I know I am late to the party but can I join please? Lost almost 2 stone in the first lockdown have put a stone back on. Going to Florida at Christmas and really want to look good in the photos....and lose enough weight to eat all the snacks while there GrinWink
Started Monday and weighed myself on Friday as that's my weigh day have lost a lb not great but better than nothing I suppose!
Currently weighing 10st 5lb and 5ft 4 would like to lose a stone but aiming for any weight that begins with 9st something to start me off.
Would be good to have people to be accountable too!

Musmerian · 26/03/2022 07:45

Yes. Keep starting and stopping- very demotivated but still have lockdown weight and need to lose a stone and a half. I get really hungry do find it hard.

Musmerian · 26/03/2022 07:54

@CannaBelieve - what is Saxenda? I’ve never heard of it but it sounds interesting.

DepthOfTheAbyss · 28/03/2022 08:29

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Mother’s Day scuppered my plans a bit but it’s all good.
Back to it today 💪

OP posts:
SaxendaSummer · 28/03/2022 17:14

I'm on saxenda

It's a medicated gastric band kind of thing! Injection daily and it literally removes your hunger. You no longer feel it

I'm on a low dose as haven't felt the need to increase it. Just don't really think about food when you are on it. 3 small nutritious meals a day and the calorie deficit does its thing

Momr · 28/03/2022 17:45

I started diet change from last January or so, and come down for 15 kilos+ whatever I gained in some weeks where I skipped. Now I eat randomly, but not craving any carbs , augers and dairy. The Key I followed was to stop carbs, sugers and dairy for 6 days a week and eat all these as much I wanted on one specific day of week. To start with I make some food and eat the same through out the day.so no pressure on what to eat. Once you stop eating these for 6 days, you don't rush for them on 7 th day actually:-)

Momr · 28/03/2022 17:56

Not January, it was Jun I had started all. In first couple of weeks, I got 8lb weight reduction for each week with it, but so far never put up more than 2 lbs when skipping. Now I eat sugars sparingly, and not going heavy on calories means still going down a pound or kilo each month.
