Just looking for company.
I’m sick of my extra weight and want to get rid of it now. I’m trying to do intermittent fasting along with protein and veg mostly and cut out sugar except for the very occasional treat.
I’m also planning on going for a 20 minute walk and 10 min weights daily. It’s about all I can manage at the moment but I hope it will make a difference.

@SartresSoul You’re doing amazingly well

Fatgalslim · 21/03/2022 22:29

Fatgalslim · 21/03/2022 22:30

I was looking into 16:8 today. So I'm going to loiter here for inspiration.

I'm the heaviest I've ever been. I decided 2 weeks ago to walk 10,000 steps per day, close my fitness rings each day and eat healthier. I've been doing this religiously and I haven't lost a lb. I have a desk job so I've doubled my steps and active minutes by consciously going for a 30 minute walk every day. But my weight has STS.

My waist is 1 inch smaller since last summer when I tried to start losing weight via WW but the scales are the same. I just can't shift it.

I'm a size 10 but slowly expanding into a size 12 and I'm 12st. At 5ft 8 this isn't massively overweight but my aim to get back to the 11 stone bracket last year ended in me being heavier. I'm not sure whether it's hormonal weight but I'm so unhappy with my body right now. Some recent blood tests came back as no signs of peri-menopause or menopause so it's not that.

TabithaTittlemouse · 21/03/2022 22:46

I would love to join from tomorrow!

DepthOfTheAbyss · 22/03/2022 06:04

Well done everyone. Some weight losses already as well Smile
I went to bed early with a headache yesterday and didn’t get my exercise done but eating was good. I had lentil soup, some nuts and raisins, oatcakes and an apple.
I’m up early and will do a 10 mins weights before the I start the rest of the day and carry on with the intermittent fasting, whole foods and water.

@Fatgalslim I’ve just realised I can use @ instead of quoting!! So also learning… Thank you!

Cuphalffullor · 22/03/2022 06:53

Also up early. Just walked to the station. Have to avoid Waitrose when I get to London. Go in for milk and always come out with a bar of chocolate too.
Have a good day everyone!

Lobworm · 22/03/2022 06:57

I put on a kilo over the course of yesterday. I do not understand, I didn’t eat a single biscuit or cake. A little chocolate.
For the time pressed & extremely unfit, I will recommend joe wicks ten minutes seniors exercise set Blush it’s adaptable to various levels (eg back injury plus huge boobs means I can’t bend to toes quickly so I just touch my knee) and it’s just enough to get you warm, not violently sweaty. It’s only a starting point…

collieresponder88 · 22/03/2022 07:03

Diets do not work ! You will just put more back on. Lear the house of sugar and fat. Buy healthy food only and eat lots of it Change the way you eat. Fill up on sweet potatoe spinach rice chicken fish peppers loads of fruit and vegetables. Chuck it all In a pan and make stir fry's it's delicious food. Snack on carrots and peoppers and rice cakes. Drink loads of water. Stick to this and you will succeed it's not a diet it's changing what you eat

StormyWaterCloud · 22/03/2022 07:19

Me please! I'm up 2 stone. There might be a hormonal link (currently being investigated) but I'm fairly sure it's also because I've overeaten since December! Focussing on healthy dinners and sensible portions. No more takeaways!

HerbErtlinger · 22/03/2022 12:06

How is everyone doing today? I've stuck to my kcals so far, need to start prepping lunch soon. O signed up to do the Diabetes Swim 22 (swim the length of the English channel over 3 months to raise money). It starts today but so did my period so will probably put off my first session for a couple of days

StormyWaterCloud · 22/03/2022 12:22

Doing well so far! Yogurt and fruit for breakfast and two poached eggs on toast for lunch. Got chilli in the freezer for tea.

StormyWaterCloud · 22/03/2022 12:23

@HerbErtlinger that sounds like a proper challenge! I do a sport but can't for a few weeks now as I've got an injury. Gutted about it!

PositiveLife · 22/03/2022 15:45

Well I'm doing OK food-wise. Made enough yesterday to have leftovers today which makes things easier.
Think I have an ear infection though - it's slightly sore and I'm dizzy if I bend down. Means none of my usual exercise but I'll see if Dd1 will come for a walk after I finish work

MrsMingech · 22/03/2022 15:47

Can I join?

I need to lose a stone (at least) I'm about half a stone over weight.

I'm doing 5:2 and trying to increase my steps.

Millicent2022 · 22/03/2022 15:55

Hi all could I join you ?

I really want to lose maybe a stone - have gone back to the office and my skirts are so tight !!

It’s really getting me down - also stuck in a bit of a binge cycle too (

I’m going to try low carb ish to get rid of cravings (I hope !)

Xxx

TabithaTittlemouse · 22/03/2022 16:00

I decided to try IF so didn’t eat until 10. I had muesli with yoghurt. A banana for lunch as was out and didn’t prepare!
I did a 6 mile round walk.

I don’t know how much I weigh because the batteries have died in the scales and I think I’ve been too scared to see what they say so haven’t replaced them! Going by my clothes and just looking at me I know I’ve put on quite a bit of weight. I don’t know whether to carry on avoiding them or not!

Millicent2022 · 22/03/2022 16:09

@PinkSparklyPussyCat

Can I join you? The only thing is I won't be starting until tomorrow as we don't have an oven and will be having yet another takeaway tonight (the oven arrives this afternoon so should be in place for tomorrow's dinner)!

I'm probably going to do 'old' WW Pro Points as it worked for me in the past.

How do you do the old points please ? X
ParanoidGynodroid · 22/03/2022 16:19

I'm in! Made a good start in January, but have run out of steam and got back into bad habits.

I make good dinners , mostly veg, a bit fish - no other meat and no dairy, but I snack too much, drink wine and am no good at portion control. I have a good walk every day, but thats never helped.
I need to try even fewer carbs and maybe 16:8 ... also get back on the treadmill.

I'm 53, probably older than most of you. Let me tell you that its a bad idea to be ageing while overweight; things droop and sag. Lose it while you're still elastic. When I do lose weight I'll be saggy like a deflated balloon. Still, that's better than being overweight, I suppose!

CannaBelieve · 22/03/2022 16:36

I'm also 53

Got 4 stone to lose! Harder to do at this age as well as coping with menopause hence I'm on saxenda weight loss drug to help move me along a bit

Side effect of saxenda is no hunger, which of course is desired effect. I lost 5lb last week on it and in last 3 days another 2 pound loss.

Trying to ditch carbs or at least reduce them

ParanoidGynodroid · 22/03/2022 16:54

Yes @CannaBelieve it is harder when you're older!

I've just started HRT though which has made me feel a big more zingy... hopefully that'll help me get more active and stay focused.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 22/03/2022 17:21

@Millicent2022 I've got an app called Value Diary. It's not as good as the real WW app but it works.

Cuphalffullor · 22/03/2022 19:53

55 in June! I’m on the way home and even turned down chocolate at work! Will get 10,000 steps in today. Just walked from Holborn to Marylebone which is an effort at the end of an 11 hour day in the office.

DepthOfTheAbyss · 23/03/2022 07:28

I managed to do my exercise and intermittent fasting yesterday but my food choices were not good.
I’m going to go low carb for the rest of week to ‘reset’ my eating.
I hope the injured and unwell posters get well soon. Well done to everyone going for it. Sorry about lack of personal replies but I’m a bit short of time. Smile
