Looking for a movie for us all to watch...

DD 15 wants something Utopian or space themed, disaster/survival based

DD 14 has stuck on spider man and not budging but loves movie with strong political/social message, the help, hidden figures, Philadelphia, ETC

DD 10 is not particularly movies fussed, I’d saying no to everything but can be bribed with chocolate..

I’ve just recently watched Captain Phillips and absolutely nothing is coming close but fancy an edge of your seat movie..

Help (oh and no cartoons/animated)

We didn't 'live' it with teens - did 'like' Soace Camp like poster above!

@EvelynBeatrice

An old one we lived with teens - Space Camp - teens US summer camp at NASA accidentally launched into orbit. Maybe too young for them, but I still enjoy Flight of the Navigator ( young boy kidnapped by alien craft visiting Earth). Left field one not sci-fi- Ghandi. Or what about old fashioned disaster type movie - the Towering Inferno ( good if you want to make them fire safety conscious Smile. Or the Satan Bug. Very topical!
I loved Space Camp as a young teenager!

Gattaca is an amazing sci fi, lots to think about, but I’d have to look up whether it was suitable for the youngest

@miltonj

Don't look up?

Survival based (kind of) and political. Funny and sad at the same time.

This. For sure!

Then The Martian next movie night.

Thank for all the recommendations, I’ve made a list.

We lost the 10 yr old so opened up some movie options and ended up going for Hurt Locker.

I’m not sure how I’ve never seen before, was good, but controversially not as amazing as I thought it was going to be, DD’s enjoyed I think though!

Sorry to derail OP but has anyone watched The Adam Project yet? I know lots were recommending it! We are watching it on Friday with DS for movie night and hoping it's good!!!

Bickles · 21/03/2022 01:36

Yes DH and I watched it yesterday and really enjoyed it. DS9 was playing but we said he’d really enjoy it too.
