My favourite is this weirdly tacky horse tankard I found at a flea market. The second photo is not really in the spirit of the thread, but it is all of my second favourites.

I do get irritated by some mugs as I’ve broken some which are then irreplaceable or a cleaner in my office once broke a brand new mug and offered to replace it but the mug had been discontinued!

I have been living in this country for more than two decades, but I still find this thread hilarious!

That's the one I want, but I think I want it in blue. I also want the ones with boats and fish on them.

I might need to 'accidentally' break some of our existing mugs so I can justify getting some new ones.

I'm strangely conflicted. We have mugs, far too many of them. I could buy more and I can afford them, but we don't need them, so I'm not allowing myself to buy them.

I make mugs (and other ceramics), but I don't actually drink tea out of any of my own as I use stoneware (a couple of the photos upthread are quite similar to what I make), but tea should really be drunk out of fine bone china, beautifully thin and translucent. Obviously if there's nothing else available I'll drink tea out of almost anything, in the past this has included plastic beakers, empty beans cans and the classic: jam jars (by far the best of the three alternatives to china).

I take excess mugs to work, they dissappear eventually.

Baby-to-be is due imminently and has been known as octobaby from about 20 weeks as she's the wrigglest bugger going, DH came home with this the other day for me and it's not left my paw since! 😂

I predict M&S experiencing an unexpected run on the Octopus mugs.
