Why does it irk me that school skirts must be a certain length?

My DDs school has a strict on the knee (or below) skirt length policy. It really pisses me off! I just don’t see it’s anyone’s issue what length a school skirt is?! I don’t think above the knee is an issue.

Or am I cross because I feel it’s othering girls. I’m not aware of a similar boys rule?

My DD rolls her skirt up. Frankly it looks ridiculous as it completely changes the fit of it and she has all these rolls around the middle. Her school does have a knee length policy but it is rarely enforced.

What can I do? I tell her my thoughts but I leave the house before her in the morning and even if I didn't, she'd just walk around the corner and roll it up. She's a good girl, works hard, has long term boyfriend so it isn't about attracting boys. She also wears similar clothes at the weekend, short shorts and skirts with thigh high socks etc.
