Dd2 is sitting on the sofa completing the QR code feedback survey from the attraction we were at today.
She always wants to rate the cleanliness of toilets or the service in a shop.
Just why????

Pissing me off.

thaegumathteth · 12/03/2022 22:09

@Phormiumjester dd (11) also loves the Stacey Solomon show

myyellowcar · 12/03/2022 22:10

I also loved to look through holiday brochures to judge the quality of the swimming pools. The more features like bridges and small islands the better.

@thaegumathteth do it! Grin

peepee123 · 12/03/2022 22:17

@Thatsplentyjack really? Each to their own.
My DC each had their own quirks and were totally endearing.
They are young adults now and their quirks are totally pleasing. Eg: they love vinyl and especially 70s rock. I am inordinately proud.

HumbugWhale · 12/03/2022 22:18

@Luredbyapomegranate

My DSD has had a profound love of eat well for less on the telly since she was 11. Mysterious
My lot all love Inside the Factory. Must be something about Greg Wallace Grin

DS1 (18) loves to sleep

I have 2 vinyl loving Ds's. I must have done something right.

AlfieandAnnieRose · 12/03/2022 22:31

My son, when 3, was obsessed with the washing machine. He loved watching it and filing it with clothes. Any clothes left laying around he’d put in the washing machine and want it to be turned on. If you tried taking them out, because they didn’t need washing, he’d get so upset! Then he’d sit and watch the washing machine. He also enjoyed the hanging up and putting away of the clothes.
This went on for about a year! 😄

Eh? 🤣 it was a joke....kind of, but good for you 👍.

catsandquails · 12/03/2022 22:39

DD has recently discovered that she loves using the little carpet scraper thing to get the cat hair off the stairs.

Elzbells · 12/03/2022 22:40

My 11 year old loves organising. I can busy her for whole days by asking her to clean my kitchen cupboards.

She organises to the point that she puts pasta into its own container and labels things. All jars have thier own sections, things get decanted into tupperware. She wants a cricut machine for her birthday.

To be honest I'm not sure how she was borne from my limbs but I appreciate her for the cleanliness of my cupboards.

MiniPumpkin · 12/03/2022 22:45

3.. nearly 4 yr old ‘mix’ anything. Today it was my lovely large cappuccino she ‘mixed’ for me like she was doing me a favour. I suppose it’s sweet really

plominoagain · 12/03/2022 22:47

DD1 loves de icing cars (she’s 16). If it’s a freezing morning , I can guarantee she’ll get up without whinging , just to do it. Father Christmas put a scraper mitt in her stocking and she was ecstatic .

StrandedStarfish · 12/03/2022 22:52

Ian Dury and the Blockheads

MiniPumpkin · 12/03/2022 22:56

Also cleaning the tumble drier fluff and pegging the washing

WellBrewedNoSugar · 12/03/2022 23:06

DS8 loves helping with housework/cooking. Always wants a go with the vacuum/duster/stir the pot/chop things up.

DD9 loves to recite random facts about Harry Potter. Or watch Harry Potter. Or look up Harry Potter trivia. Or find something Harry Potter related to do.

AuntFlorence · 12/03/2022 23:13

One DC has a penchant for shredding paper, if paper shredders ever get banned he would make a killing. He also is very good at taking books completely to pieces in record timing. He is incredibly efficient at removing the spines. He has been doing this since toddlerhood because he has worked out it is a very efficacious in upsetting his book loving mother (me)

Another DC is exceptionally good at finding things that don't belong in toy containers, eg. A puzzle piece in the wrong box or a duplo piece in with the Lego's. So if anyone needs someone to help find a needle in a haystack?

Making a mess?

TheFormidableMrsC · 12/03/2022 23:16

Visiting charity shops for whatever weird shit he can find. He's autistic.

Shodan · 12/03/2022 23:18

DS2(14) loves watching Downton Abbey and is really looking forward to going to see the upcoming film with me.

(although I won't let him if he farts as much as he is this evening...Grin)

He also loves going into the loft, which is great at the moment because I need to clear a lot of stuff out of there.

Winnietherose · 12/03/2022 23:18

My DD who is 16 loves floor plans, both looking at them and drawing her own for her dream houses. They have corresponding Pinterest boards to show how the rooms would look.
We are soon to be buying a new house so I am hoping these interests and skills will be put to good use.

BertieBotts · 12/03/2022 23:22

DS2 likes observing how things like interlocking doors work as well as getting injections apparently.

Oh and eating frozen peas, though I don't find this weird as I used to love a "pea lolly" when I was a child :o

BertieBotts · 12/03/2022 23:23

Winnie you should get her the Sims if she doesn't already play it! I used to spend hours designing houses, first on free room planning websites and then later in the Sims...
