I'm just about to finish my first cuppa of the day. No-one else is up so it's lovely and peaceful down here. Dd1's been a bit under the weather so I don't expect to see her for a few hours yet.

There's some washing & general tidying to be done before we head into town. And I need to think of something for tea 🤔

I have a small list to buy & dd1 needs to pick up a couple of things for her residential that's coming up. Dd2's coming just because she wants to 🤣

I'm hoping to get a couple of hours at my crochet project later on - I haven't touched it all week, and need to do a little prep for Rainbows and Guides on Tuesday but that might wait until tomorrow, we'll see.

What about all of you? :)

Sat on sofa watching MAFSA while peeling carrots and drinking coffee with cream in it

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/03/2022 08:08

Morning! I'm going for a much needed massage, plus my first ever facial. Then I'm going to make a lasagne for tea and have a long soak in the bath with a book. No plans for tonight. Might get the seeing machine out for a play.

Sewing not seeing 😂

I am sat at the breakfast table, looking out at DH's daffodils dancing in the sunshine. He would've loved today, he'd be itching to get out and 'do'. The babies are eating chocolate spread on toast and I am drinking coffee. Once breakfast is done we are off shopping for an outfit for me to say my final goodbye to DH in. Nothing black, he wants no black. Colours all the way, I shall buy something to make him riotously proud.

Morning! I love having a nose at what everyone's up to
Currently watching Paw Patrol with my 2 year old before her and DP go swimming
Then I'm going to pop to the shop to get some bits for family film night this evening (also Paw Patrol)
Have a lovely weekend everyone Smile

LexieLoos · 12/03/2022 08:17

X-post - Sorry for your loss @bloodywhitecat
You sound very strong, will be thinking of you today

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 12/03/2022 08:19

Have been thinking of you bloodywhitecat

Recovering from Covid along with DH. Had a lovely busy weekend planned but all now cancelled. Woe is me. I’m feeling much much better though so planning on doing some household sorting.

Belledan1 · 12/03/2022 08:20

Morning 🙂 my dc have gone to their nans and dh has gone out with his friends so my day consists of a bit of tidying and then knuckling down to some revision and essay writing.

I'm trying to do a couple of loads of washing ready to peg out when the weather brightens up later. I think I'm going to have another cup of tea first though.

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 12/03/2022 08:22

Morning @lucysmam and everyone, look forward to this lovely cosy thread every Saturday you should do a Sunday one too @lucysmam

I've been up since before 7 as toddler had to absolutely go outside to check on our new bird feeder! Toddler playing, I'm on the couch with my usual pot of tea, blanket and book (deliciously Ella cookbook today).DH has text me from upstairs to say other children awake but happy reading etc In their rooms (I'm deaf so can't hear them)

I'm looking forward to today, after brunch we are getting the train into our nearest town (children very excited about the train) as we need a few bits that our local village shops dont sell. One child needs school shoes, another needs school jumpers etc the joys of growth spurts! I want to treat myself to some lovely bath oils and also want to get some paint samples. Children also have book day vouchers to spend so we are going to a lovely independent bookshop then hopefully a cafe for tea and cake and a read of the new books. Also getting an early tea out probably something simple like nandos. Can't wait!

Hopefully home around 7, children straight in bath and bed then it's a glass of red and call the midwife on catch up we are still working our way through it.

I've been following your story @bloodywhitecat and your love and dedication to your wonderful husband and all your family shines through. I'm so very sorry for your loss. You say your late husband liked daffodils, how about something yellow for your outfit, I love daffodils too they can't fail to brighten. Wishing you gentle days ahead x

Today is the first Saturday since October that ice hockey isn’t on, so it’s more chilled this morning!

I am sitting at the table with a cappuccino and wondering how long it will take for all the snow to melt (live at 1200m in a Swiss ski resort).

We’ll make some homemade ravioli and a lemon meringue pie later. 🍋 This morning the kids (3 & 5) will do some painting & sticking and we will mount some pictures and do a few DIY jobs. I will also peruse the travel brochures for where to go on holiday. We had planned (but not booked, thankfully) to do the trans-siberian railway in autumn but not going to Russia now!

Tomorrow we might go skiing as it’s probably the last available day before the temp rises to double figures next week.

OldTinHat · 12/03/2022 08:27

@bloodywhitecat I love this! Sounds like your DH is waving at you with his daffodils. Get a fabulous outfit and don't worry about making him proud, I'm absolutely sure he is even if you wore a bin bag. You sound very strong and full of love for him but you must miss him terribly, sending you best wishes to you and your family.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/03/2022 08:32

Oh @bloodywhitecat I'm so very sorry for your loss. I hope you find an outfit that you love. xxx

Savingpeoplehuntingthings · 12/03/2022 08:37

DC have gone to an all day scouting activity. First childfree day in ages! Me and DH are going to treat ourselves to breakfast out then we're going to clean the house lol.

LadyGardenersQuestionTime · 12/03/2022 08:38

DH unexpectedly away all weekend and kids grown and flown so in bed with a lovely cup of tea. Reading your posts reminds me of all those years up at 6 watching cartoons with small fry - lovely as they were I also love my peace and restoration now.

Crafty weekend ahead - allotment, some sewing to do, some painting, shopping and batch cooking. In fact I need to write a list.

@bloodywhitecat will be thinking of you too

robocracker · 12/03/2022 08:38

Lying in bed currently. Catch 22 situation for me. So tired from fibromyalgia plus meds I'm on but also lying in bed not asleep makes me ache. I'll probably transfer to the reclining sofa in a minute!

Once I am ready to move I need to give the kitchen a quick once over then taking my teens into town to buy a sports bra for one and eldest is getting doc martens. It will take hours as she can't make decisions it speak to people!

I need to get a shelf up later then check over my notes from my guiders meeting last night and do any immediate things from that.

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 12/03/2022 08:41

Taking DD to a sleepover later so this evening will be peaceful. DH is going to football. Might take DS to sift play hell with a friend. Need to clean house and do laundry. Not very exciting

Redeyed · 12/03/2022 08:45

Thinking of you too @bloodywhitecat. You could wear a daffodil in your lapel.

I've fed dog, will walk her soon. Have a few bits of housework to do and washing to put out. I will finish my current crochet project today and ponder what to do next. Hopefully I will get the chance to read too. Have to take my youngest to his part time job later.

PermanentTemporary · 12/03/2022 08:45

I hope you find the perfect outfit @bloodywhitecat, yellow sounds perfect maybe, or a gorgeous multicolour print.

I've just cancelled a day in London because I have a cold and feel extremely strange. Exhausting time at work so I'm going to do very slow pottering and perhaps sort out a box of my mum's stuff which is all over the house. Second coffee time.

LaingsAcidTab · 12/03/2022 08:46

Flowers @bloodywhitecat Flowers - My mother demanded we wear bright colours, particularly green and purple, at her funeral, so that's what we did. It felt entirely fitting and right. I hope the day goes as well as it can for you all.

I'm lying in bed with a urinary tract infection. Feeling a bit shite, but loving the weather ... and the bloody cat is now dragging me out of my cocoon to let him into my housemate's room so he can spend the day on the bed there. Off to open the door for the furry scoundrel!

Lsquiggles · 12/03/2022 08:47

We have fences arriving this morning after most of them were blown down during the storm a few weeks ago. My sister is coming round to do some crafts with my DD whilst we try to fit said fences, hoping the weather looks a bit brighter later to hang some washing out. Really need to do a food shop as we don't have much in but might be able to scrape by until tomorrow.
