Can I ask if you feel happy and content with your life?

I've always wondered what it feels to be happy and content or if it's even possible.

I'm 26 with 2 DC's and I am having my third I am married. Have an ok house (new build) but very small but can't afford anything bigger yet. Not the kind of house I would like anyway.

We have a niceish car and go on holiday twice a year, eat out a lot and do nice things as a family.

These are all the things I wanted when I was younger but now I have It I couldn't give a crap about any of it really.

So it's just made me wonder really, do you feel happy and content in your life? Or do you still always feel like somethings missing or you want more?

Sevensleeps My child’s father, I won’t even say DP for obvious reasons. Considering what the poor citizens are going through in Ukraine I feel I should not be complaining.

@My3cents1 I agree with Lalola.

I've been in abusive relationships and I'm so much happier by myself, you deserve to be happyFlowers

My3cents1 · 21/03/2022 09:27

@lalola. Thank you for your kind words x

My3cents1 · 21/03/2022 09:29

@Frollop. Thank you. I agree, I would be. I’m just pathetic that I put up with it x

Frollop · 22/03/2022 21:00

@My3cents1 you're not pathetic, your self esteem sounds extremely low and you need support to help improve it. Services like women's aid can help you or Talking therapies via NHS. Remember you are amazing and you deserve to be treated with love and respectFlowers...don't settle for less X

Not really. On paper I have good health, a great family (not without its occasional problems), three very good friends, a safe job, a house, savings.

But I overeat, my job is boring and gets me down, I have a long, tiring commute and often struggle to connect with other people. I often feel depressed because of this.

Reasonably happy but have some MH issues that cloud the way I see things. I have a nice house, enough money and starting a new job soon. I am not materialistic, and get a lot of pleasure from small things so for example today, a lovely walk in the sun with my dogs who I adore, a nice lunch, some bargain denby bowls from the charity shop for a couple of quid. Little things make me happy. I do worry a lot about my kids - all teenagers/ young adults and what the future holds for them.
