Semantle episode 3

Somehow we've almost filled 2 threads already so here is thread 3. I still need a distraction from the news, and Semantle certainly fits the bill.

To understand what I'm on about followthis link. It's a word game like Wordle in that you need to find the secret word of the day, but it works by semantics. So you input a word and it will tell you how close you are. You have infinite guesses.

For example, one of the secret words was 'costly' with expensive, cumbersome and burdensome being the three closest words.

I solved Semantle #42 in 19 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 5.75. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #7. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 50.86 (973/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

I got so annoyed that I gave up and now I'm so mad at myself for not getting that. It's so bloody obvious! 🤦‍♀️

Redeemed myself after giving up yesterday 🙌 got on the right track about 16 guesses in which helped!

Sounds like most people found today easier. I definitely did but was wondering if that was just me getting the hang of it (so it appears it wasn't - darn).

I was going ok and now stuck on 974 can't think of anything else to try! Any last minute hints would be appreciated x

I've got loads of greens with a similar theme!

Think about where you might get 974 from, and what other things you might also wish to acquire while there.

Eventually! Got to 975 under my own steam but wouldn’t have got further without some of the clues.

Not quite my lowest number of tries but I think the quickest!
