I'm preparing already, I've quit healthy eating and monitoring my alcohol intake, I'm going to spend the remainder of days nicely pissed eating cheese. Seriously thinking of ordering some E's just incase it seems imminent, will then play trance music full volume with the windows open.

If it all blows over i will have to go all Gillian Mackeith.

OP in a purely light-hearted vein: I have always quite fancied trying heroin once, but was put off by the scary campaigns in the 80s. If all bets were off (and assuming one could find a dealer during the final minutes, I suppose) that's what I'd do. Get as high as a fucking kite. I might build myself a stockpile of weird munchies for the occasion - aniseed balls, sherbert lemons, kola cubes and a shit-ton of Fanta...there's a space in the loft where the Brexit stash used to be

I agree it's really not funny. People are working at gunpoint in the biggest nuclear reactor in Europe, which was shelled earlier today. I'd say that we weren't that far off half of Europe becoming uninhabitable earlier today.

There are scores of other serious threads. Go to one of those. I took it in the way OP meant it. Hide it if you don’t want to see it.

A real conversation I had with DP a few hours ago:

Me: God, there's so much food in this kitchen!
DP: Handy if a war breaks out over here
Me: It had better not be any time soon, we've just spent 60 quid in Asda! That could have been a waste of money!
DP: Money is not much use if we're getting vaporised
Me: That much is true. I guess on the plus side we'd have about four minutes warning to eat as much as this stuff as possible
DP: I would die happy with a doughnut crammed in my mouth

Sadly not jam. He buys these awful chocolate-covered doughnuts stuffed with this godawful Nutella-like substance inside. Just the thought of them makes me want to vom.

Gallows humour indeed, lots of threads about how very awful the world situation is right now. This is a distraction from the pure awfulness , and if you don’t want to take part then that’s understandable. This is escapism, because you know , if I keep thinking about reality, it’s pretty 🙈
