Classic anxiety dreams… what are yours?

I’ve had a few common ones - trying to find a toilet etc.

But a recurring one for me over the last couple of years is this:

I’m somewhere other than home, with my family. We’ve been staying, or even temporarily living, in an apartment. And now it’s time to pack and go home. I’m worrying about managing to pack everything before the deadline.

In the dream it seems to be more a worry about people thinking badly of us for leaving our stuff, rather than worry about losing particular things, but the overwhelming feeling is “How the hell can we possibly pack all this and get home with it all?”

There’s often other stuff going on in the dreams too, but all the while I’m thinking “but I need to pack!”

Anyone want to share their usual anxiety dreams? Or analyse mine? :o

I'm back in my first flat but I'm not supposed to be there. I'm either sneaking in whilst the occupants are out or it's empty and my ex landlord doesn't know I still have a key and am living there in secret. I have that dream usually once per year or so. Moved out in 2013!

Freshoutofideas21 · 01/03/2022 22:01

Having no voice when I really have something important to say, I'm screaming but no sound, jumping up and down but invisible...Confused

cheeseisthebest · 01/03/2022 22:01

I have the packing dream! There is loads of stuff I need to pack abd I'm running out of time.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 01/03/2022 22:03

My teeth fall out, but only the molars

IJustNamedYourPenis · 01/03/2022 22:03

I’m at work but I can’t find my office. I keep walking up and down different stairwells and corridors that all look identical, and know I’m increasingly late for work.
Also, the toilet dream! Hate that one…

SpikeDearheart · 01/03/2022 22:04

When I'm really anxious I dream my teeth are falling out.

Or the classic, about to walk on to stage and perform but I don't know what I'm supposed to be performing.

Gherkingreen · 01/03/2022 22:04

Teeth falling out, literally spilling out of my mouth and all I can feel is empty gums. It's so vivid and I wake up convinced I've spat out all my teeth.
Other one is driving a car but it's out of control and I can't do anything to stop it.
Haven't had either for a while but can remember them so clearly.

MrsBobBlackadder · 01/03/2022 22:05

I also have the packing dream!!! I'm always in a hotel and need to leave really urgently, but have too much to pack and miss my flight...

Glad it's not just me Grin

Happyhulahooping · 01/03/2022 22:06

Legs won’t work so I can’t walk, teeth falling out, being naked in public and not realising straight away. I HATE DREAMING Grin

cheeseisthebest · 01/03/2022 22:07

Yeh I have the car driving one, I'm sat in thr back or passenger and trying to drive the car

Totalwasteofpaper · 01/03/2022 22:07

Teeth falling out

Always my teeth. The front bottom ones Sad

And then I also have more lighthearted os recurrent dreams where my DH does DIY that goes wrong...

CatFacePoodle · 01/03/2022 22:07

Turning up to my final exam of my degree course and realising I haven't read a single book on the syllabus or attended any of the lectures. I have this dream a lot.

newbiename · 01/03/2022 22:10

Am in a hotel or at work and can't find my room or office.
Running but not moving.
Moved house but didn't want to.
I take my car to the garage and they keep it.

Newbabynewhouse · 01/03/2022 22:10

Mine are:
Being haunted and trying to scream but i cant ...trying to find a toilet but theyre all dirty (like REALLY dirty) poo overflowing wee flooding the floor, blood 🤢 ...black shadow in my room (usually sleep paralysis) ... trying to find something to wear whilst rushing to get ready for work or an interview and having nothing nice to wear...

RightOnTheEdge · 01/03/2022 22:10

I used to work in racing and it's really important to have your horse ready and out walking round the parade ring on time.
I had dreams for years even after I'd left that job that I was late pulling out, that I had forgotten an important piece of tack or was just rushing to get the horse ready but there was no way I'd make it in time and was in a total panic!
Now I dream about being really late for my current job.

justpicksomething · 01/03/2022 22:11

Not being able to get my stuff together and get to the door to get off the train before it pulls out of the station.
Last night to add insult to injury the train pulled into the station then veered onto a sideline and pulled up alongside a quay, bobbing on the water like a boat. So not only could I not get to the door in time but even if I could get to the door I'd have had to jump onto a pontoon about 6' below the floor of the train.
And teeth falling out.

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives · 01/03/2022 22:12

Teeth falling out here too. In pieces so my mouth feels all gravelly! Or that they are still attached to my gums by the nerves but hanging down inside my mouth.

whiteworldgettingwhiter · 01/03/2022 22:13

I dream about work. I'm an editor. Sometimes I dream about real work, sometimes imaginary, sometimes dc's homework. I'll get locked into a loop of the same dream, I wake up, go back to sleep and straight back into the same dream, editing the same document, but something might be missing, or I can't think of a weird, or things go wrong - it's so frustrating.

whiteworldgettingwhiter · 01/03/2022 22:13

Word! 😂

Newbabynewhouse · 01/03/2022 22:13

Ohhhh missed some!... yep teeth crumbling out and spitting them out! And also, going back to my old job and getting angry that the new people are making out that i dont know what im doing and me thinking that i worked there for 4 years 10 years ago and im better than them Grin

JellybabyGina87 · 01/03/2022 22:14

@FuckThatBullshit

Omg I have that too about a flat I used to live in years ago. And when I get in there I find loads of my familiar belongings that I'd forgotten about but don't actually exist in real life. I looked up the meaning of this dream and it means you're searching for part of yourself that you feel is lost. I also dream I find secret rooms in my house and apparently that means I have unfulfilled potential.
HangingOver · 01/03/2022 22:15

Being on stage and not knowing any of my lines!

MuchTooTired · 01/03/2022 22:16

Mine are always about either the nazis and hiding from them as they March looking for me, the river Thames (falling in it, or trying to cross a weak bridge) or occasionally being chased by a figure trying to do me harm.

The worst one involve both the nazis and the Thames.

RonniePickering · 01/03/2022 22:16

I can fly, but when I "set off" I end up going at 140 mph and can't slow down, the panic always wakes me up.

Wolfiefan · 01/03/2022 22:16

I have the packing dream. Loads of stuff. Sometimes it’s me packing to leave a house I really didn’t want to leave.
I’ve also had the been at Uni for months and managed not to attend any lectures. Indeed I don’t even have my timetable.
