...strawberry sherbets, or Yorkshire Mixture. But they make one's mouth sore so I might have to get some toffees - mint, treacle or rum butter - to scoff afterwards.

What will you have from the sweet shop ? Don't worry about the cost, or your teeth. MNHQ is picking up the shop and dental bills for everyone.

I'll have 2oz of floral gums please and 2 of toffee crumble.

It was the favourite bit of my Saturday job, measuring out the sweets and then doing the nifty little flip to twist the corners of the bag.

I never knew floral gums were so popular. I've had one once and I thought I was eating a nugget of shampoo. It was disgusting. Likewise, parma violets. Eww. On the plus side, I might also have to purchase some wine gums, fruit salad or sports mixture. But, only the Lion ones. Proper, firm, chewy fruit gums. Do not accept the squishy substitutes. I might buy chewing nuts again if they're coated in actual chocolate rather than a chocolate flavour veneer.
