Has anyone else ever found it THIS hilarious going down a slide?

I like the Duchess of Cambridge, she seems nice enough and is doing a good job of what she’s doing

But doesn’t it get a bit boring pretending everything is absolutely hilarious, as she does in all photos? That wide open grin must be knackering to have on all the time. Surely going down a slide isn’t this much fun?

i think she came down a hell of a lot quicker than anticipated....nearly ended up a bit undignified

0blio · 22/02/2022 20:20

It's her professional persona while she's at work.
We'd all much rather see her lovely smile than a miserable expression.

Lolliepoppie · 22/02/2022 20:22

She genuinely looks like she found it fun. Perhaps it was a particularly good slide?

She looked like she was having fun. I like a slide myself. I used to sneak on them when soft play was quiet.

mnahmnah · 22/02/2022 20:23

To be fair, I can’t imagine it’s often she gets to go down slides

ProudThrilledHappy · 22/02/2022 20:24

Maybe that slide has some strategically positioned “special” bumps? Wink

I agree the constant smiling and happiness must be wearing, definitely not a job I could do

Porfre · 22/02/2022 20:25

No thanks

With what we're going through I could really do without seeing her in her gilded life.

Discwriter · 22/02/2022 20:25

I think she looks more at ease and natural in these photos compared to others. It is reasonable to expect that coming down a slide might be hilarious, I'll give her that.

SickAndTiredAgain · 22/02/2022 20:28

In the clip, she does come down quite fast at a bit of a wonky angle so while I agree that sometimes she can seem a bit “over-smiley” I’m not sure this was an example of it.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 22/02/2022 20:30

She definitely looks like she found it fun. I love those slides, myself.

HereLiesBetelgeuse · 22/02/2022 20:33

Watching the video of it earlier she clearly came winging off the chute and narrowly avoided falling flat on her arse in front of the worlds media.
The laughing was mostly due to that. It was hardly inane grinning for the sake of it.

Gj63 · 22/02/2022 20:34

I've never been Kates biggest fan but give the woman a break!! She obviously came down faster than expected and almost fell off the side. I think she partly smiled out of embarrassment and shock. She handled herself really well. I dread to think what the media could show if I went down a slide in front of thousands of cameras.

SirenSays · 22/02/2022 20:35

This is probably how I looked coming down the huge slide at the local park. Partly because I felt silly with everyone watching and It was genuinely faster than I thought it would be with the added weight of my neice on my lap. I felt quite bad as all the children there saw and began begging their parents to take them down it too.

Well aren't you a misery! 🙄

HelloKeith · 22/02/2022 20:38

Probably the most fun she's had in ages.

Jvg33 · 22/02/2022 20:39

To be fair you do go down them quite quickly. As an adult you don't go down them very often 🙂

Getdowngetdown · 22/02/2022 20:40

That was a really fast slide! I think she handled it incredibly well. I would have fallen flat on my face at that speed (speaking from experience)

Samcro · 22/02/2022 20:42

She looked like she really enjoyed it.
Made me smile

lljkk · 22/02/2022 20:44

Duchess was not hysterical, she just had a single fun shriek. Gosh she's human, who knew, right?

I never laughed so hard in my life as I did a few months ago when me & DSs all managed to squeeze into the toddler swings at a playground. Those places are designed to be human fun.

minipie · 22/02/2022 20:44

This looks genuine to be fair. Probably a lot more fun than the average meeting and making small talk gig.

SeigneurLapindeGrantham · 22/02/2022 20:48

I think Crown Princess Mary should have had a go as well but she may not have been there.

Nah I don’t think she’s human, some sort of fembot IMO, too perfectly placed and never puts a foot wrong. Must be something wrong with her but we never see it

Does it really matter?

As a PP said, I’d rather see her smile than miserable - she has a lovely smile and seems like a genuinely nice person Smile

Squiff70 · 22/02/2022 21:04

No wonder you have an attitude like that when you read the Daily Mail. FFS.

BOOTS52 · 22/02/2022 21:14

Probably the best fun she has had in ages, and imagine having the camera's all there and everyone looking at you so nerves as well as bit of fun more than anything. Do not envy her life at all as she has to keep in line and be the good wife. Am sure there are times she misses her old carefree life just going shopping with not a care in the world.
