Has anyone else ever found it THIS hilarious going down a slide?

I like the Duchess of Cambridge, she seems nice enough and is doing a good job of what she’s doing

But doesn’t it get a bit boring pretending everything is absolutely hilarious, as she does in all photos? That wide open grin must be knackering to have on all the time. Surely going down a slide isn’t this much fun?

Bloody hell I’m quite anti monarchy in general but ffs she came down a slide and it looks fun, I’d like to have a go myself. She looks like she enjoyed it.
I’d never have seen the photo otherwise but if it bothers you seeing her ‘doing her job’ turn the channel over or stop reading the bloody daily wail. I rarely encounter much to do with any of the royals these days via the news.

obstacalling · 22/02/2022 22:01

Probably embarrassed. I would be if my post slide face was plastered all over the papers

Jovanka · 22/02/2022 22:01

I would have totally fallen on my arse and ended up an undignified heap. Fair play to her.

She does seem to find everything hilarious but then I think I probably would if I mainly had to tow the firm’s line and be regal. And be married to William.

AutomaticMoon · 22/02/2022 22:03

I cannot stand the RF in general. Self appointed ‘Divine Right to Rule’ BS... and 84 photos of this occasion seem OTT.

It seems like a photo op but at least she’s promoting early years and infant mental health. First time I’ve heard it worded quite like this, usually I’ve read about attunement with infants and know the importance of early years but of course infants will have a mental health too, it makes sense to me. I remember telling adults I was depressed before I tried to commit suicide at 12 but they would laugh heartily and mock me, saying I have nothing to be stressed about. As it turns out I had cPTSD due to abuse in care so I do approve of her message that children’s mental health is important and infants turn into children so we should pay attention to their mental health too. Whether she came up with this by herself or because of advisers, who knows, I’m a cynical bastard 😛

AutomaticMoon · 22/02/2022 22:06

I think she might be on some kind of drugs though, to be able to laugh so much and at the drop of a hat. I wonder if ‘they’ make her do that, laugh all the time to seem unthreatening 😕

Or maybe it’s just a side effect of being a rich bitch? I can only imagine that would make a person laugh merrily and often 😃

TheOrigRights · 22/02/2022 22:09

I'm sure you're meant to take your shoes off at soft play #MissesPoint

AutomaticMoon · 22/02/2022 22:10

@ZenNudist

Poor woman looks as thin as a rake.
I think so too, I’m afraid she might have ED. I don’t want to speculate on unpleasant private things. But I think being in that family/life in general is a toxic place to be, that seems obvious. Whether the money makes it worth it, perhaps it does but I just don’t think it’s a healthy position to be in. Divine Right to Rule? Surely, they know that’s garbage.

Well spotted! Maybe they herded the children away from the vicinity so she didn’t impale them with her heels 😃
Leftbutcameback · 22/02/2022 22:13

That's clearly genuine laughter at the bottom of the slide and it's lovely to see. There's a saying that we don't stop playing because we get older, we get older because we stop playing. Good for her.

ENoeuf · 22/02/2022 22:13

Its just her job isn’t it? Photo ready at all times, keep cheery. Look at the shit Meghan got for confessing to feeling down on the Africa tour. Media is fickle she knows she can’t show her feelings.

AutomaticMoon · 22/02/2022 22:13

@Teddybearen

Really it’s a shame when a woman laughing going down a slide is getting picked on.
Do you know of ‘Woman Laughing Alone With Salad’?
Bejazzled · 22/02/2022 22:15

Made me smile on another dark day for Scotland

Partyatnumber10 · 22/02/2022 22:16

This thread is making me want to watch the whole clip now.
I like her, I don't think she smiles "too much" that's kind of her job and she does it well 🤷‍♂️

AutomaticMoon · 22/02/2022 22:20

Oh is the mention of the Zara blazer meant to make her seem like one of ‘us’ mere mortals, buying ‘cheap’ clothes? I’m far too cynical 😭

But I cannot begrudge someone for laughing while doing something fun and ‘silly’ 😃

Bejazzled · 22/02/2022 22:58

I was kinda waiting for a ‘your minge!’ Moment
One for the oldies there…

Feedingthebirds1 · 22/02/2022 22:59

Uncalled for.

Agreed! Some can’t help themselves.
CarrotSticks2 · 22/02/2022 23:19

I really don't think I'd find travelling all over the world to go down slides boring tbh. Especially when coupled with lots of money, a massive house and 3 lovely children. Sounds dreamy. There are many negatives to be being a royal but I'd hardly say having to smile is one

She doesn't have to have the smile plastered on 24/7, it's hardly even a 9-5 job. There's lots of jobs where you have to maintain a certain persona at work, for example if you work with children. It's no different.

Question the purpose of the royal family as much as you like but your posts scream jealousy

AColdDuncanGoodhew · 22/02/2022 23:30

Looks like she's having fun to me

MistySkiesAfterRain · 23/02/2022 03:20

I don't know her but I get the impression whatever her life she would be a glass half full type of person. Some people are just naturally enthusiastic. Also who goes down a slide with a serious look on their face?

Jacopo · 23/02/2022 13:08

If this thread had been about the Duchess of Sussex it would have been deleted by now.

Mint5 · 23/02/2022 13:15

Jacopo totally agree.

Last time I went down a slide I burst into tears like a complete fool, it was a long one with bumps and stuff. I got scared! I really lost respect for myself that day. I think Duchess of C did a good job as usual.

WhatAHexIGotInto · 23/02/2022 13:18

Well she's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't. Some folk will find misery in every situation if they look hard enough. 🤷

EmmaH2022 · 23/02/2022 13:20

I would be that happy too!

I don't have kids and I'm fat, I haven't been on a slide for ages!

Such fun!
