Well this is a huge timewaster! The skill of the pilots is a joy to watch. My dad would've loved this. One of his wishes when he was dying was to go to Heathrow to watch the planes (pre youtube etc).

I don't know if anyone has asked this before, but why are pilots setting off to come here to land in a red warning for wind area in the first place?

So many flights to land at Gatwick have been aborted. I have been listening to Simon Calder on the radio, and the Bordeaux passengers are going back to Bordeaux. Another flight has landed in Zurich.

The pilots set off unless air traffic controllers in the destination airport tell them not to. I'm currently on the tarmac in a European city waiting to take off for LHR. They boarded us onto the plane and now we sit here waiting for LHR air traffic control to tell us a landing slot. We will take off at the right time to hit our (much delayed) landing slot.

The live feed is totally addictive. Also a bit terrifying that will be us in a couple of hours' time! Hopefully the worst will have passed by then

I don’t think he seriously thinks he can land a plane better, I think he is just messing around. He sounds just like my dad(born and bred in Hayes) and similar sense of humour too.

Have to admit I'm a fan and a member. Really like Jerry's enthusiasm and all around craziness. In the last 10 days he's been in Seattle, Heathrow, Amsterdam and back to Heathrow. Having watched other aviation channels, his camera work is 2nd to none.

Oh agree with all of that and I’ve watched his stuff on and off for some time, the images are great, but these days if I have the feed the sound is off.

Problem I and I know others have is he seems to recently increasingly started to give his opinion on the aircraft handling is seeing, which I’m not sure is the brightest move.

Maybe Manchester? Fuel might be getting limited for further attempts
