Too many possible words and too few lives, tactical elimination on 4th guess worked out!
Similar here. Got the shape of the word by Guess 4; four letters correct, just needed the starting letter. Had four more possible answers but only two lines left. Used Guess 5 to use up three of the possibles in a totally different word (all failures) which then left Guess 6 as the correct answer.

Phew, indeed.

A tip from earlier....

If a word has multiple options for your final letter, try a word that contains as many of them as possible.

For example if I had -OOKS, It could be books, looks, cooks, nooks hooks etc.....so try the word BUNCH and check 4 of the letters in one go!

Yes, that's a good tip, and what I did.

Today was the first day your method occurred to me! There was a word a couple of weeks ago where I had most letters but kept missing the answer SHAKE /SHARE/SHAME etc. But today I used a totally wrong word like you suggested and bingo. Please note. The answer wasn't BINGO.

I have given in to playing Octordle, and come back to Wordle for a break from punishing myself 🥴😀
