Fucking stop it.

WhatAHexIGotInto · 17/02/2022 14:44

I totally agree.

MrsRobinsonsHandprints · 17/02/2022 14:46

You fucking stop it. What's it with the bloody thread police today?

Anyway Ick is a word that conveys a lot. If you don't understand what it means count yourself lucky

Mindtheears · 17/02/2022 14:47

Stop policing my thread

OP posts:
gamerchick · 17/02/2022 14:52

What word would you use out of interest? Ick is self explanatory.

Mindtheears · 17/02/2022 14:53

Is it?

OP posts:
longcoffeebreak · 17/02/2022 15:05

it is an awful and non descriptive term

gamerchick · 17/02/2022 15:09

@Mindtheears

Is it?
Yes. Say it out loud. Makes you do the face.
SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 17/02/2022 15:11

Yeah but how do you feel a facial expression for someone?

I find it so rude and offensive if the simple thought of me made someone shiver and it's often used on here to mean someone's partner or husband...ie someone they are supposed to love...

gamerchick · 17/02/2022 15:15

If something like that makes you feel offended then there are multiple destressing techniques out there for in general.

Personally I think people should butt the fuck out of others people's posting words tbh. It's a forum. Don't like it then there is usually an off button somewhere.

Mindtheears · 17/02/2022 15:34

I don’t like reading something and being forced to “do the face”

OP posts:
Mindtheears · 17/02/2022 15:36

No one is forced to post on this thread.

OP posts:
Letsallscreamatthesistene · 17/02/2022 15:38

Its annoying. Its as annoying as people writing 'mood' as captions on social media.

CallMeNutribullet · 17/02/2022 15:39

Policing people's speech is weird.

Mindtheears · 17/02/2022 15:40

Not if they force you to “do the face” as you read it isn’t

OP posts:
IsItTooHotInHere · 17/02/2022 15:55

it's a very silly phrase, and kind of babyish

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 17/02/2022 15:56

Id say the exact same thing back to you, you can hide a thread if my posts are causing you so much angst.

I said I'd find it offensive if it was used about me...

gamerchick · 17/02/2022 15:58

Do the face OP Wink

KohlaParasaurus · 17/02/2022 16:02

I think it's wonderfully evocative.

Mindtheears · 17/02/2022 16:08

You're giving me the ick, OP.

MrsPsmalls · 17/02/2022 16:15

Its a ridiculous phrase and concept. I've heard it said on here about men being too short or Dhs having head colds or gaming. It seems to allow the person feeling the ick to abdicate all responsibility. Grow the fuck up, and start making your decisions based on what is in your long-term best interest and not on what you happen to feel. And for what it's worth, feelings are a rubbish way of making decisions. I personally feel that I would get on great with Jason Momoa and I would be a superb figure skater. But at age 60 I'm going to engage my rationality and give them both a wide berth.

Mindtheears · 17/02/2022 16:16

Do the Face, dworky 🕺

OP posts:
Mindtheears · 17/02/2022 16:18

I think it would be a shame not to try figure skating if you think you might enjoy it. I have a tendency to face plant therefore avoid but you might find it easier than you think.

LizBennet · 17/02/2022 16:21

What does it mean, makes me feel sick? Why not just say that 🤔
