Ick is the only word that sums up my feelings for exH without swearing.

It's fine if you're 12. An adult using it is just odd IMO but if others like it then crack right on.

I don't mind "that's icky" so much but 'the ick' is irritating.

I haven't heard the word outside MN so I assume I have never felt it.

I don't mind someone having gotten The Ick because it's very specific, but I can't be doing with the way it's ubiquitous now with people saying just about anything 'gives them the ick'

I understand the concept/feeling, but it's an awful thing to say about someone, especially if they can't help whatever it is about them that produces that reaction in you. Imagine your sons' girlfriends/wives/partners saying it about them 😢
