I run a cub pack once a week.
Other than that evenings are cooking, eating and DH washes up.
Then tv.
Weekends depends, housework (both of us,) and seeing friends or family. Shops for whatever we need food or for the house. Then more tv.

Comvit · 17/02/2022 13:36

My job isn't 100% desk-based but I think I fall into roughly what you're after.

Our evenings (after we've cooked, eaten, washed-up etc., so from about 8pm onwards) are a mix of reading books, board games, Netflix, chatting about our days

Our weekends are variable. We don't go away or on day trips because of our dog. Instead, we do DIY (where does it all come from), cleaning/tidying, reading, playing games, watching TV, wandering up the local high street, fitness classes. At the moment, I'm on a mission to tidy up every cupboard in my house which will take every weekend until I die May bank holiday at this rate. If we didn't have a dog I think we'd go for weekends away and day trips a lot more.
Saturday night is usually a take away with wine and out favourite films or TV programmes. Weirdly, Saturday is usually a super early night because I can't handle my drink any more Grin

daisym00n · 17/02/2022 13:37

I go to a music group once a week, I usually go out with a different friend every couple of weeks, I read, I watch tv, I cross stitch, sometimes go to the gym if I didn’t go in the morning.

MimosaFields · 17/02/2022 13:38

I see friends, go to the cinema/theatre, work on crafty projects, read, watch TV, clean the flat, join online lectures or sightseeing tours....

MintyFreshBreath · 17/02/2022 13:39

Mostly Netflix and National Trust at the weekend. It’s very rock and roll around here (not) 😢

emmathedilemma · 17/02/2022 13:40

Go to the gym, running club and run/volunteer at parkrun, typically I'm away about one weekend a month to visit friends / family or they come here anything to avoid housework

Chishnfips · 17/02/2022 13:46

I usually read or do some crafts like sewing or watercolours. Dh will play games on his PC. We always make and have dinner together and clean up together whilst chatting about our day. We like long walks at the weekend, sometimes mooching around town visiting friends. Sundays is a clean up the house day.

NeedWineNow · 17/02/2022 13:49

I do classes on a couple of evenings a week, otherwise it's dinner and tv in the evenings with DH (who is quite happy with Sky sports on the evenings I'm out). We have quite simple weekends, off shopping, pottering, local pub usually any time on a Friday, Saturday or (usually) Sunday afternoon catch up with friends. Football, until we give our season tickets up at the end of this season or get theatre tickets and make an evening of it with dinner out.

RedRosie · 17/02/2022 13:50

Also rock and roll here ...

Learning a language, learning a musical instrument, watching Scandi Noir, cooking, walks, weekends away, reading.

Lottapianos · 17/02/2022 13:50

Evenings - cook dinner, watch TV, go to bed early and read

Weekends - gym, long walks, cinema, sometimes meet friends for lunch, try new restaurants, go to pub, occasional weekend away. Cleaning and grocery shopping in there too!

Why do you ask OP? Are you feeling stuck in a rut?

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 17/02/2022 13:56

Scrapbooking. I took it up to get me away from the computer. So I'm working through decades of photos, writing the stories to go with them. Also knitting, cross stitch - anything to keep me off the computer.

Comvit · 17/02/2022 13:58

Oh yeah, I forgot about crafting. I'm working on a Christmas diorama at the minute (when I'm not sorting out cupboards).

MouseyMoose · 17/02/2022 14:15

Evenings - some nights I will go to the gym and some nights DP goes to the driving range, other than that we just eat together and then watch tv although we did go to a pub quiz last night with friends which was fun. In summer we will go for an evening walk and maybe a stop off in a beer garden some nights.

Weekends - anything from a lazy weekend just doing a bit of housework and food shopping etc and then slobbing about to busier weekends seeing family or going on days out/into the nearest city for a few drinks. We tend to eat out at least once over the weekend (sometimes we might go out twice if feeling flush e.g. for breakfast Saturday and tea Sunday) and probably go into our local town for a drink every couple of weeks.

I do get a bit bored on weeknights and want to start reading more but my job requires using my brain all day and I'm mentally knackered by the evening!

MouseyMoose · 17/02/2022 14:16

Oh yeah and we do see friends separately and together, mainly at weekends but I sometimes eat out with a group colleagues during the week.

maxelly · 17/02/2022 14:20

Weekday evenings I go to stables straight from work to look after my horses/ride, DH tinkers with DIY things/potters around the house/ plays computer games in the early evenings, then one of us will walk the dogs, the other will spend a bit of time cooking and cleaning/housework, dinner then a couple of hours of telly or reading usually before bed, sometimes we'll call relatives or friends for a chat. We don't much like going out or doing too much in the week TBH, weekends are when we do our socialising.

Weekends vary, but the mornings are usually spent on horses/'projects'/hobbies then we'll often head over to a local friends for a late lunch or evening meal (or we'll host ourselves) particularly in summer when the BBQs etc. start up, or we go out for a few drinks (together or separately, we're not joined at the hip), plus we usually eat Sunday dinner with his parents who are nearby. Once a month or thereabouts we do a longer trip to my family who are less local or further away friends (sometimes with an overnight stay), or we occasionally go to the cinema, theatre or out to eat, with friends/family or as a couple. Sometimes we both feel more in need of a quiet weekend to catch up on housework, cook a more elaborate meal, just chill out - so although my horse needs looking after and riding every day (and sometimes I have others to look after too) and the dogs need to get out every day, for me those are pretty much the only non-negotiable, so some weekends/evenings are full-on busy and others much more potter-about the house style...

Gladioli23 · 17/02/2022 14:24

Not quite 9-5 here but I'm the evenings on weekdays I usually go to the gym or go out for a walk with a friend- gym two or three nights, walk one or two. Have friend/friends over for dinner or go out maybe once every 2 weeks or so, usually on a Friday, sometimes Saturday.

Then at weekends I either go and visit friends, or my family, or have a quiet weekend (back at the gym/swimming, reading etc). Quite often pop into town. Go out for brunch or lunch or dinner maybe a couple of times a month.

Nothing terribly exotic but it suits me!

shumway · 17/02/2022 14:27

Evenings - watch tv, read a book, read newspapers and do the puzzles in them.
Weekends - have lunch out, supermarket shop, more reading and tv, watch a film.

lampygirl · 17/02/2022 14:33

My job is split between site and office 9-5. I can do weeks straight in the office though. I do workouts a few evenings a week. We also get as much dull stuff out of the way in evenings so shopping, posting things, any minor tasks we can do at home without being unnecessarily noisy (i'd build flat pack ikea or put a one off shelf or picture up before 9, but I wouldn't fire up the serious power tools for anything woodcutting or masonry). If the weather is nice, a walk or cycle. We did have a dog so back then most evenings were a long-ish walk or play on the opposite fields, but she passed just before the pandemic and we aren't in a position to have a pup at the moment (old dog was fine with 8am walk for just under an hour, midday dog walker for an hour, partner home at 4pm but couldn't do that with a puppy) so we no longer go for walks in bad weather so if its miserable and there's nothing else then cook something nice and put a film/box set on.

Weekends are usually various sporting things and anything you can't do in the week like any heavy duty DIY/go to the tip etc.

lljkk · 17/02/2022 14:45

Not me but a friend -- spends huge amount of time flirting on dating apps.

VaulterTech · 17/02/2022 14:50

Go to stables then go to running club or the gym most nights. Go for a meal / gig / comedy one night. Or luxuriate in sitting down and watching tv!

ShavingTheBadger · 17/02/2022 14:51

Winter - couple of nights a week I'll watch telly. I also get jobs done around the house - one a night, so, ironing, washing, cleaning the bathroom, hoovering etc, so that I have the weekend clear. Also get any paperwork done, pay bills etc. Once a week I'll have a proper lazy bath -shave my legs, file my nails etc (that's about as groomy as I get!).

Summer - I live on the edge of the Pennines so when the days are longer I usually go for a long walk with the boyfriend and take a picnic tea one night if it's dry/sunny. Also spend a couple of evenings at the allotment either watering, weeding or harvesting. If the weather is nice I'll extend my cycle commute home to 25 miles and wiggle my way home through the pennine villages.

DetailMouse · 17/02/2022 14:56

I don't sit at a desk all day everyday, but I have an indoor, not very active job.

I'm on leave this week. In the 9 days to this coming Sunday I will have:

  • decorated a bedroom
  • done parkrun
  • done a 10m walk with a hiking group
  • Had coffee with a friend
  • been to see a band at a local pub
  • seen a West End show
  • Had dinner with my parents
  • Been to running club twice
  • c. 30 mins daily (youtube) Yoga
  • Had my eye lashes and eyebrows done
  • been to the library and started a book
  • Found a new real fishmongers and butchers, very exciting!
  • cooked for and drunk a lot of wine with a friend
  • spent too much time on line and started the Anna thing on Netflix
  • Had a massage
IntermittentParps · 17/02/2022 15:08

Evenings tend to be cooking, eating and a chat round the kitchen table. Then telly or a movie, then bed with a book. One evening a week I do a Ballet Fit class and one evening I do a lovely relaxing yoga class.
Weekends: galleries/walks/cafes/cinema/theatre; seeing friends; occasionally visiting family (much less since Covid as my parents are older/vulnerable and live far enough away that I really need to stay over, which is difficult); more reading; more leisurely cooking than in the week.
To counteract the sedentary job, I do a Zumba class on a Saturday. I know you didn't ask about mornings but, also to counteract all the sitting, I run/do yoga/do more Zumba on weekday mornings too.

YoungA98 · 17/02/2022 15:12

my evenings tend to be the same on the weekdays: I go to the gym for an hour, go home and cook food. Then by the time I have eaten and showered, I'm ready to sleep tbh. But most of the time I watch a bit of Netflix, then read. On the weekends, I don't really have the energy to do much but i normally end up doing house work, seeing friends and more reading and Netflixing

VaulterTech · 17/02/2022 15:15

Oh I forgot weekends! More of the same but with days / nights out with friends also.
