I don’t have any skin in the game this year (Bills fan) but am excited for the half time show and have decided I’d like the Bengals to win as they feel like the underdog - and they pulled such an amazing game out the hat against the Chiefs!

I am. I know nothing about NFL but DH is a fan and pre Covid would go up to London with his friends each year to watch a game, so I’m a poor substitute who he’s had to bribe with chicken wings. He’s a Dolphins fan and says he would love the Bengals to win but he thinks the Rams will take it.

GrealishHairband · 13/02/2022 22:02

Generally we as a household don’t take the NFL hugely seriously until January, at which point we all pretend we have a clue and get right into it for a month or so then move on until the following year.

For instance. I’m a Bills fan as I like the colours of their kit 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

DH is probably the one who knows the most out of all of us and has to spend every January explaining the rules to us all.

Really looking forward to the HT show this year as well.

@Sn0tnose I think chicken wings are a fair price for your company!

Also rooting for the Bengals here, although we are a packers household. Really looking forward to the half time performance too. I start work at 7.30am though so probably shouldn’t stay up until the end Grin

GozerTheGozerian · 13/02/2022 22:05

I’m sorry to say I’m not up to speed with the game at all but am buzzing for the half time show!

I’m a cheap date! 😂

Have you been to see a game live? It’s pretty good fun by all accounts.

IAmSantaOhYesIAm · 13/02/2022 22:08

Well very randomly - I have seen the Cincinnati bengals play in their home town!
So I vote for the bengals to win!

GrealishHairband · 13/02/2022 22:10

@Sn0tnose no, although we are eying up the London tickets for next season. But I think I’d prefer to watch a game on American soil.

GrealishHairband · 13/02/2022 22:12

@GozerTheGozerian all welcome here!

The halftime show should be epic. I keep pottering around the house muttering ‘na na na na na it’s the motherfuckin D O double G Snooop Dogggg!’ 🤣

Grumpsy · 13/02/2022 22:12

DH has booked tomorrow off so he can stay up and watch- on the other hand I’m going to bed - taking the dog with me 🙈🤣

Sn0tnose · 13/02/2022 22:14

@GrealishHairband To be fair, the half time show in America is much more glamorous than in London. They didn’t have any entertainment the last time he went but previously they’ve had Jess Glynne and Robin Thicke 🙄 He says it’s definitely worth it if you can get tickets though.

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 13/02/2022 22:14

Watching in Canada has the bonus of a way more sensible broadcast time. Don’t really mind who wins. I’m probably just here for the snacks, beer and half-time show.

They had Craig David when we saw the Rams in London, wasn’t the greatest entertainment! Game was still good though.

GrealishHairband · 13/02/2022 22:18

@Grumpsy I have tomorrow booked off too 😳😂

I've massive box of American snacks ready for the game. Still on the fence about who to root for though!

GrealishHairband · 13/02/2022 22:31

I’m on a strict boot camp diet. The lack of snacks is killing me. I would normally cheat but I’m heading into my final week and have to maximise my weight loss. I’m massively grateful to the rest of the household for not grazing under my nose!

You've definitely got more self control than I do!
GrealishHairband · 14/02/2022 00:57

It’s a pretty tight game so far.

Up the bengals!

Watching here too but we are in a slightly more civilised time zone for it (EST). In a mixed marriage (DH - Cowboys, me - Packers) but we are both rooting for the underdog Bengals. I have eaten so much I will need help getting off the sofa!

Aaannnd the Bengals just scored while I was writing that Grin

dipdye · 14/02/2022 01:34

Half time show was alright

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 14/02/2022 01:36

I want to go to a SuperBowl one day in real life. I don't have much of a bucket list but that is definitely on there.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 14/02/2022 01:37

dipdye it wasn't as good as I was expecting TBH
