I will make a roast of some sort (if I cannot persuade the DH and DCs to go to our local very good pub) and just can't decide.

I would love to know what you have (with sides also)!

Thanks!!

We usually have chicken or beef but are trying pork today.

For sides, we have roast potatoes, then a tray of roasted Mediterranean vegetables with balsamic vinegar and feta.

Ooh- Med veg with feta sounds good!

We had ours yesterday because I had more time for cooking than I do today.

A chicken for the rest of them, a shop bought nut cutlet for me. Potatoes, carrots, green beans, yorkshire puddings, gravy, cranberry sauce.

If I have time today I will make nut roast, lemon & garlic roast potatoes, red cabbage braised in cider, and @OhNoWhatYouGonnaDo has just inspired me to do a tray of Med veg as well!

Do you have a nut cutlet brand you recommend? DH is vegetarian and I usually just do what I call 'an extravaganza of vegetables' for him but he does enjoy nut roasts.

I’m having a M&S turkey breast joint and I’m going to try out my brand new meat slicer. Roast potatoes, stuffing balls, broccoli and gravy. If I was a shape I’d be a Nomnomnomagon!

ArtemisDarling · 13/02/2022 07:38

My current rhoughts are;

slow roasted greek lamb with lemon and oregano
med veg with feta and balsamic
stuffed peppers (stuffed with couscous and raisons) for DH as his main.

Roast tenderloin (pork fillet) here, with sage and onion stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, broccoli, sprouts and carrot and parsnip mash.

WellJuhnelle · 13/02/2022 07:46

I usually do chicken because I have perfected it now and there is then plenty left over for a pie on Monday!

My go to sides are roast potatoes, stuffing, broccoli cheese, roasted carrots and parsnips and plenty of gravy

Nillynally · 13/02/2022 07:47

Chicken, not had it in ages as we usually have pork or beef, last weekend we had lamb as we had the in laws over.

Nillynally · 13/02/2022 07:48

Oh and roasties, yorkshires (always) some sort of veg and a Cauli cheese (ready made because I can)

picklemewalnuts · 13/02/2022 07:48

I sometimes roast a pork shoulder- cut the skin and fat off, rub with allspice, paprika and garlic. Roast the rind separately for crackling for those who like it.
Roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese/tomato, green beans.

But today we're having duck. I don't know what veg til I open my veg box and see what's come!

TickleMyPickle · 13/02/2022 07:50

2 XL whole chickens, stuffing, Yorkshire puddings, tray of cheesy cauliflower, broccoli, leeks and peas, Swede and carrot mash and some braised red cabbage ( shop bought) & loads of gravy. Oh and some pigs in blanket as the kids love them.
This is for 6 of us and there will be plenty of chicken and stuffing left for sarnies for the next 2 days.

dinodiva · 13/02/2022 07:51

Chicken here. I had in the freezer some pigs in blankets leftover from Christmas so we will also have those. Will serve with roast potatoes, mashed carrot and swede, broccoli and peas. Yum yum, I love a roast dinner!

Sunshine1235 · 13/02/2022 07:53

Roast pork, hoping the crackling goes well. Sometimes I nail it and other times it flops (literally)

Sides are fairly standard - roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, broccoli, maybe some roasted carrots, and gravy. I might make some apple sauce too as have loads of apples to use up

Riverlee · 13/02/2022 07:53

Beef, purchased from local butchers. We’ll have Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and veg. Recently started to roast the carrots.

ZenNudist · 13/02/2022 07:54

I've got a rack of lamb out. It's a quick cook for a roast. Will also roast tenderstem Broccoli and fry some spring greens. Undecided on potatoes.

Xiaoxiong · 13/02/2022 08:00

We had ours yesterday as we have a long drive today! Paprika roast chicken, potato wedges, homemade saffron aioli, sautéed spinach & cavolo Nero with raisins and pine nuts. Bit of a Spanish theme going on!

Look at my post a few up from yours. It makes the crackling much more reliable!
HeyRememberThatTime · 13/02/2022 08:08

This was just from the freezer section in Asda, it was fine but nothing special. It's my go to when I want something easy and it's just me eating it.

Chishnfips · 13/02/2022 08:15

Pheasant wrapped in bacon with some roast potatoes, parsnips and carrots and some cranberry and orange stuffing.

Sounds fab. Let your DP know what he'll be making as he won't let you go to the pub Grin
MrsDThomas · 13/02/2022 08:45

Always a roast on Sunday!

Chicken
Carrots
Broccoli
Cauliflower cheese
Sprouts
Stuffing
Roast potatoes
Baby potatoes
Yorkshire puddings
white wine.

hellcatspangle · 13/02/2022 08:47

I'm not cooking today (successfully talked DH into going out) but my dream roast would be roast leg of lamb, with crunchy roast potatoes, some mash, cauliflower cheese, some greens (my preference is shredded Savoy cabbage) roast carrots, a wine gravy and mint sauce. This would be followed by home made apple crumble (other crumbles are acceptable) with ice cream. This is what I'm hoping to get today!

OxanaVorontsova · 13/02/2022 08:48

Chicken roasted in air fryer with lemon and thyme
Roast carrots and broccoli
Roast potatoes
Yorkshires
Gravy obvs
A nice light burgundy
Rhubarb crumble
