Paying for b12 injections

55 replies

cheeseisthebest · 08/02/2022 16:17

I am so tired I can't function, I've had everything checked I eat well, I'm not stressed, I get lots of sleep, don't drink but I'm exhausted GP said my b12 is low but not low enough for injections. How can I find someone to give me b12 injections that I pay for as I'm sure that's what I need.

Just do a general search for B12 injections in your area. Some chemists do them and a company called vitajab or very similar name.

cheeseisthebest · 08/02/2022 16:26

Ok thank you, wish my Dr would do it they did years ago for me but this time have just said to double up on tablets which makes no difference.

Beauticians do them. Often the ones who do botox fillers etc. I feel exactly the same. I may go soon.

DH & I both had a course of injections at a local aesthetician (she was a qualified nurse who offered services such as botox, fillers etc). I think it was about £80 for 4 injections?

Nookable · 08/02/2022 16:36

Some cosmetic procedure places do them. I used to get them done by a doctor at a clinic that offered botox, fillers, skin peels etc

Akite · 08/02/2022 16:38

You could try challenging your gp, if you become a member of the pernicious anaemia society, they can help you.
If you can't face that, you can get them done t many beauty places these days or buy your own and start self-injecting. Check out the b12 deficiency support groups on Facebook.

It you aren’t squeamish you can order B12 from Germany
It’s 7.50 euros for 10 tubes
You can buy the needles / syringes and what bin on line and do it yourself
It’s what I do
I buy 3 x pack of ten and including the postage it’s under £30

Iamthedom · 08/02/2022 17:23

www.versandapo.de/
This is the company that I use and I have been using them for several years
They come within a week

What bin - I mean sharp bin 😂

These are the ones I get from the link above they are halfway down the page
Vitamin B12 Depot Panpharma 1000 [my]g/ml iniecto -lsg (10X1 ml)

cheeseisthebest · 08/02/2022 17:35

Thank you I don't think I could inject myself though!!

I buy from Versandapo too.

I can get them from the GP but only once every months and that is not enough so buying them was a no brainer.

I can still get one every third month from the GP but I don't bother as it costs them and for what it costs me, it's not worth it.

NannyGythaOgg · 08/02/2022 17:39

I would get one from a practitioner first though just to make sure there is no bad reaction. It's rare but it can happen

Iamthedom · 08/02/2022 17:53

@cheeseisthebest ah it’s a piece of piss injecting honest
I watched you tube videos 😂😂
It’s really easy and if you really can’t do it yourself ask a friend or family member 😂

beautifullymad · 08/02/2022 17:59

@cheeseisthebest

Thank you I don't think I could inject myself though!!
You can buy automatic injectors where you draw up the solution and the pen injects you. Used for insulin mainly. It's painless and easy.

How do you order off this site? It's all in German. I'm in the uk!
RelentlessForwardProgress · 08/02/2022 18:17

@Iamthedom thank you, your link is so helpful to me,

Can I ask you please, where do you buy the sharps bin and needles online from?

Thank you.

Iamthedom · 08/02/2022 18:40

@lovelylittlesunflower

You can translate it to English not sure how but I know I did previously

@RelentlessForwardProgress
Any medical site
If you Google sharp bins needles syringe you will get lots of them
It’s not expensive only thing that’s annoying is that the needles & Syringes are often in packs of 100s but they are still really cheap like under £5

RelentlessForwardProgress · 08/02/2022 19:40

@Iamthedom that's great thanks
@lovelylittlesunflower I'm in the UK and just ordered from there, I don't know what browser you are using, but on chrome on the top right hand side there is an option to translate the page to English from German

Musicaltheatremum · 08/02/2022 19:42

Buy it in tablet firm. If you don't have a medical condition that stops you absorbing it then take supplements orally

MrsDThomas · 08/02/2022 19:54

As @AwkwardPaws27 days. Many nurses around who will give you some.

Iamthedom · 08/02/2022 19:57

I know that if you suffer from any sort of gastro problems even ulcers gallstones then tablet are no good
Sprays are ok
But injections are much better

Iamthedom · 08/02/2022 19:58

@RelentlessForwardProgress
Glad to be able to help you
They are very quick and you will get them within a week
I always do

Paranoidandroidmarvin · 08/02/2022 20:36

GPS are rubbish at this. The reason ur b12 is low is because ur body cannot absorb it. Tablets will not work you need it injected.
I am about to change doctors and I have been told they will probably stop my b12 injections so I will be getting them from somewhere else.

One piece of advice. Don’t leave it to long. A lack of b12 can damage ur body without u even realising it. I ended up not being about to walk ( which is how I found out about mine ) my feet are permanently damaged now.

Ignore ur doctor. Go with ur gut and get it from somewhere else.

Anyone tried these?

b12rx.com/Exclusive-Painless-B12-Self-Injection-Process

Its an all in one

cheeseisthebest · 08/02/2022 22:06

Thank you, I've taken tablets and sprays for years, no improvement. I have found someone local, recommended by a friend so will book.
