I sometimes wonder if I am taking so many that they cancel each other out. I take three for medical reasons and then I also take Vit D, Magnesium, and Curcuma. Thanks.

Basic is 46 per day + patches, creams, powders, inhalers, as needed meds so depending on what symptoms are giving me grief, and then vitamins and supplements after that and oxygen if needed for migraine. So on a bad day this is approx 70+ tablets.

Then regular injections, once a week, infusions monthly but this is a slimmed down version of what I was previously on which was more than 100 pills a day.

At the moment it’s 3... for my thyroid.... been taking them since 8 was born. The amount changes sometimes if my levels ain’t up.

Romeiswheretheheartis · 07/02/2022 22:26

Lots, although less than I used to as I'm tapering down. 12 today, as I have to take 6x methotrexate once/week. The rest of the week it'll vary between 6 and 8 each day. I have an auto immune disease.

RedSnail · 07/02/2022 22:32

20-30 prescription tablets a day depending how I feel, plus 7-8 blood tests and 6-7 injections per day. I’m 34.

Xiaoxiong · 07/02/2022 22:41

None. Sometimes I go on a health kick and start taking vitamins but it never lasts long as I don't ever see any real benefit.

16 different ones a day! Then 2 injections a day plus 2 other ones weekly! I have rheumatoid arthritis plus a few more chronic conditions! It's incredibly annoying to have to take so many I'm constantly wondering if I can cut any out...

user1745 · 07/02/2022 23:53

Daily Vitamin D and K2.

Occasional paracetamol or aspirin for pain and cetirizine or Phenergan for allergies or sleep.

Fifthtimelucky · 07/02/2022 23:57

I'm 60 and my knees have been a bit troublesome recently so I have started taking a multi vitamin that also contains glucosamine.

Other than that I don't take anything.

12 different daily medications with a total of 28 pills between them per day.

1 prn medication I take about twice a week. 2 pills each time.

2 inhalers several times a day

1 injection every 12 weeks

Assorted supplements.

IncompleteSenten · 08/02/2022 00:16

Forgot painkillers.
500mg paracetamol 4 times a day and 800mg ibuprofen 4 times a day.

So that's another shedload.

@Theworldisquiethere

I don’t take vitamins. I eat food. What a ridiculous thing to say. I eat very healthily but always feel a difference when I regularly take a good daily multivitamin.
If you have a healthy balanced diet there is no need to take multivitamins!
IncompleteSenten · 08/02/2022 00:31

Not always. Sometimes a medical issue can cause a deficiency and you need medication

BlondeWidow · 08/02/2022 01:34

12 prescribed plus 1 x prescribed transdermal patch (for pain relief) changed every 4 days. Followed by 10ml of liquid morphine.
I then take 7 x supplement pills

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 08/02/2022 01:35

This isn't meant to be a rude comment, but I'm genuinely baffled that some people are taking so many prescription medications. I'm curious as to why - I mean it's obviously none of my business, but I'm curious as to whether it's for a preventable condition they developed because they weren't living a healthy lifestyle or what? I don't know anyone that takes prescription medication aside from my husband due to a recent heart injury.

I go through phases of taking vitamins. It usually only lasts a couple months max before I forget to take them for months on end. I've just had covid so am on a vitamin roll and have been taking

Vitamin D 3x daily
Vitamin C 2x daily
Vitamin A 1x daily
Zinc 1x daily
Omega 6 & 9 1x daily
Cucumin (higher grade tuneric) 1x daily

Multi-vitamin 1x daily

BlondeWidow · 08/02/2022 01:40

@jimmyreckon

29prescribed 3 vitamins - also prescribed but bought otc Plus d mannose

Also pain killers - 16 tabs per day plus oramorph ppn

So 55💊

Have you tried Buprenorphine patches for pain relief? They're absolutely amazing! You only need to change them either every 4 days or every 7 days (depends on the brand prescribed) and you can still drive etc but they totally remove chronic pain! They gave me my life back pretty much. All I need now is the liquid morphine for breakthrough pain as & when needed. They're a revelation!
BlondeWidow · 08/02/2022 01:43

@Bakewelltart987 Total nonsense! Almost everyone in the UK & North America need Vit D supplements as it's extremely difficult to get from food and there's not enough sunlight!! Do your research please!

Also, there's thousands of people who need vitamin infusions due to mal-absorption issues, despite a perfect diet!!!!

So just because you don't know anyone besides your own husband who takes prescribed meds, that means anyone who does, has brought it on themselves?!?!?! Are you quite alright?! You actually think doctors prescribe medication for fun and that you know better than qualified doctors???? I've been on prescribed medication since I was 13 due to severe long standing health issues. I know many, many people who are quite literally kept alive by their prescription each month and have it all delivered in a huge box 📦 Without it they will die within hours.

This is honestly the most shockingly naïve post I've ever, ever read on MN
