How have you ruined your toddlers day so far?

I brushed DS's hair and made him put his shoes on the right feet ("But I LIKE my hair being knotty!"..."But I WANT them on the wrong feet!!"). So he's gone off to nursery not very happy with me at all.

Have you ruined your toddlers day yet?

I repeatedly ruin 6mo DDs day by not letting her lick the cat's food bowl

AgnesPerdita · 04/02/2022 09:28

I ruined my DDs day by cutting the toast, brushing her hair AND making her put the cat down before we left for nursery.

I am a complete monster.

Classicblunder · 04/02/2022 09:29

I mentioned it was sleepy time at 4:30

I tried to feed my 18 month old breakfast.

She looked at that yogurt like it was a turd and tried to throw it at the wall. Then fell to the floor and screamed.

SatinHeart · 04/02/2022 09:30

I tried to put his nursery rucksack on his back for the walk in to nursery from the car. He felt it was my job to carry it for him and was so enraged he lay down in a puddle.

Onlyrainbows · 04/02/2022 09:37

I took him to nursery while his das was still at home.

ItsGotToBePizza · 04/02/2022 09:39

I gave him his bowl of fruit. After he asked for his bowl of fruit

ShirleyPhallus · 04/02/2022 09:40

She asked me to sing wheels on the bus, so I did, then got NO BUS!!!!!!, big frown and a lip wobble

Jellycatrabbit · 04/02/2022 09:46

Ruined his day by asking him to pull his trousers back up.

In the ensuing tantrum, trousers still round his ankles, he fell over and bumped his head.

Pbbananabagel · 04/02/2022 09:52

Ruined toddlers day by requiring him to get dressed. Ruined baby’s day by feeding him porridge, apparently he’s not keen.

ShadowPuppets · 04/02/2022 09:53

DD was most put out that I wouldn't let her sit down in a puddle on the way to nursery this morning. She's probably at nursery and plotting how to steal her keyworker's mobile phone so she can report me to SS as we speak...

My toddler Grandson this morning : “Dancing dinosaurs please”
Me, finds some dancing dinosaurs on youtube,
DGS “Noooooo, don’t like it” .
Two minutes later “Nannie, Dancing dinosaurs, pleeeeease”.

Kayjay2018 · 04/02/2022 10:05

I put on Pingu when she wanted Bing even though she asked for pingu

moonlight1705 · 04/02/2022 10:07

I told my DD that it was her birthday in a week. Apparently she doesn't want to turn 3 as she won't be a baby then.

I tried to consol her with the thought of a nice birthday cake but she then got upset that I wouldn't make it at 6.30am this morning.

ClawedButler · 04/02/2022 10:13

Ah, yeah, I don't miss the toddler years AT ALL. In my time I have carried out all manner of evil, malicious acts such as:

  • not wanting to be hit on the head with Lego
  • suggesting we go outside
  • wearing shoes
  • providing stickers which were too sticky
  • putting butter on the wrong side of a cracker
DappledThings · 04/02/2022 10:24

I told her how long it was till her birthday. This was in response to her asking me how long it is till her birthday.

I sang along to all of the Bruno song in the car. This is normally what I am allowed, nay ordered, to do. Not this time. I was meant to know that I was only allowed to come in at Isabella's lines, not Pepa's.

I wouldn't let her cuddle her umbrella in bed.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 04/02/2022 10:26

Mines in reception but I still ruin his day every morning by not driving him to school.

The fact I cant drive doesn't wash :/

bobbythevet · 04/02/2022 10:28

I flushed her turd

MajesticallyAwkward · 04/02/2022 10:31

Gave my 2yo the wrong cup. After he picked up said cup and asked for juice.

Then I gently suggested maybe he'd like to wear his own shoes for nursery and not his sisters (massively too big) crocs.

Last night I carried some nappies upstairs and when we got to the top ds flopped to the floor crying because he wanted to carry the nappies.

Oh and a few days ago I put a carrot stick on his plate. I have never seen fury like it, the whole plate was thrown on the floor and none of the meal was eaten.

I think i'd blocked out how dramatic toddlers are after DD got a little more reasonable 😂

MonkeyPuddle · 04/02/2022 10:37

Put my 15mo’s coat on her. Screaming all over the floor.

I forgot how much toddlers can be little knobheads.

Notajogger · 04/02/2022 10:37

@bobbythevet

I flushed her turd
Worse....I flushed my own turd.

Also, I suggested 4.30am wasn't time to get up. Cue screaming to the point of nearly being sick.

Oh, and I changed her nappy. Absolute sod that I am.

Alarae · 04/02/2022 10:42

I offered her the banana she asked for.

She came back and ate it after initially running away and crying like that never happened.

HairsprayBabe · 04/02/2022 10:44

Wouldn't let me 18mo wear my sunglasses

Asked him if he would like milk in his cup

Said that grandma was coming round later

Put the Teletubbies on when he asked for it

I sat down at the dining table

Confused
ihateliningup · 04/02/2022 10:56

I took him to the park. I helped him climb things. He doesn't want help. He can't do it by himself. He wanted the swings, I put him in the swings, he screamed to get out the swings.

ClawedButler · 04/02/2022 10:58

Good god, what terrible bastards you all are. Shocking, just shocking. Grin
