Just that really!

OP posts:
Notajogger · 03/02/2022 15:37

No!

EatingGreens · 03/02/2022 15:38

No.

bluesugar · 03/02/2022 15:38

No

MrsR87 · 03/02/2022 15:39

No, food is my favourite!

Jumpingintomenopause · 03/02/2022 15:39

I would find it really off putting.

Grumpsy · 03/02/2022 15:39

No

zafferana · 03/02/2022 15:39

No, because he'd be really unhealthy!

WheelieBinPrincess · 03/02/2022 15:39

None? No veg at all?

No it’s a bit weird.

TibetanTerrah · 03/02/2022 15:40

No because I don't date toddlers.

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 03/02/2022 15:42

No, it would make communal cooking impossible and expensive, and I wouldn't want to be a party to the toilet he used regularly...

TheBitterBoy · 03/02/2022 15:42

No. Mainly because I'm vegetarian.

Morgan12 · 03/02/2022 15:42

Well in what context?

My DH wouldn't eat veg if I didn't make it. He would never just go eat some carrot batons for instance. But if I cook veg with dinner he eats it.

housecoat1968 · 03/02/2022 15:42

I married one.

NoiceToight · 03/02/2022 15:42

No way!

Fallagain · 03/02/2022 15:43

No.
He won’t be healthy, cooking together would be impossible and I certainly won’t want to raise a child with his a modelled behaviour.

Scarby9 · 03/02/2022 15:43

I had a friend (now dead, sadly) who didn't eat any fruit or salad, and only a really limited range of cooked vegetables (chips, roasties and mash and peas).

I didn't find this out for about a year - we met for walks, and for coffee (and cake) so it wasn't until we had lunch that she mentioned this. I was so surprised, because it had never occurred to me that she wasn't 'normal' (ie. ate like me!).

Because of her, I would be prepared to risk a date with the non-veg eater, but I don't think it would last or develop because I eat so much veg and shared meals are - for me - a key shared activity.

MrsTerryPratchett · 03/02/2022 15:44

No. I know one of these and his poor kid! I sat with her once when she was small at a party. Her and DD were picking at some chopped vegetables and he came over and said, "yuk" in front of them. Idiot. His DD is now really unhealthy, drinks energy drinks for breakfast and also eats no vegetables.

I love food and it would make me sad to be with someone eating white bread ketchup sandwiches and turning their nose up at vegetables.

MermaidEyes · 03/02/2022 15:44

Yes, I married him 😆 To be fair he'll eat them in things like curry or stew, just not on their own

ShavingTheBadger · 03/02/2022 15:45

No. It’s bad enough going out with one who doesn’t like cauliflower or eggs.

MermaidEyes · 03/02/2022 15:46

Also, he's mid 50s and very fit and healthy. I find it amusing that not eating veg would put some people off!

Bananarice · 03/02/2022 15:46

I have never considered this. How does he feel about people eating it in front of him? Would he prepare and/ cook meals with vegetables?

haba · 03/02/2022 15:46

Well my son eats none, but he's a lovely respectful young man.

Ncwinc · 03/02/2022 15:46

No. It’s so childish I couldn’t take them seriously.

NoSquirrels · 03/02/2022 15:46

I love food. I love eating out at diverse and interesting restaurants across a wide range of cuisines. I love doing that with my partner.

I also love cooking, but find restrictive diets err… restrictive when catering every day.

So I wouldn’t willingly choose a life partner who was a fussy eater because it would seep into every aspect of life and prevent me doing or sharing enjoyable things.

MermaidEyes · 03/02/2022 15:48

@haba

Well my son eats none, but he's a lovely respectful young man.

Well according to the MNetters on here he's a fussy weirdo who only eats ketchup sandwiches 😅
