How many times did you have sex to fall pregnant?

Posting for traffic, been TTC and nothing.

So how many times did you have to have sex the month you fell pregnant?

I cannot do daily sex no matter how hard I try. Even every other day tails off mid month it's just too much.

But if this is what we have to do then we have to do it.

Can you please comment to let me know the frequency of your sex the month you fell pregnant?

41 and once … not planned but best mistake ever!

Cheekypeach · 30/01/2022 15:10

Got pregnant first month think we did the deed 3 times?

AppleTree16 · 30/01/2022 15:11

Conceived in October. Once around O-3/4 and then once on ovulation day as well. We were surprised it happened to be honest. Must have been a lucky month.

You do realise that there is a lot of days on the month you will not get pregnant even if you at at it morning, noon and night.

Download a period tracker app and it will give you the average cycle and most fertile days.

Use ovulation days to see when you ovulate.

SartresSoul · 30/01/2022 15:11

3-4 times a week.

NameChangeCity123 · 30/01/2022 15:20

Got pregnant within two weeks of coming off the pill but we were having sex every second day. Good luck to you OP, hopefully you'll have good news soon 😃

Mossstitch · 30/01/2022 16:04

I realise I'm very lucky as only took once, first time wasn't even full penetrative sex (don't ask🤦) however what I will say is that not everybody follows the norm with ovulating. I read somewhere that the body can even ovulate in response to having sex so I don't think it's necessary to have it lots of times. My third (unplanned happy event) was literally conceived from unprotected sex the day I finished my period when in theory it should be 'safe' time, that was in the days before there was such a thing as ovulation tests. I'd suggest ever other day around the right time of the month is sufficient as sperm can last quite a while inside you waiting patiently💕

mindutopia · 30/01/2022 16:05

Twice every time. Got pregnant 2nd cycle twice and then 1st cycle the last time.

3scape · 30/01/2022 16:38

Ever other day starting on day 10 until day 18. (It probably should be day 12 starting but I have a shorter cycle).
First one was first try as was second one. .

millymolls · 30/01/2022 17:01

Professionals would say not every 24 hours I think rather every other day in the few days up to and including ovulation

If your cycles are regular and 28 days you’d probably be looking at every couple of days from days 9-15
Of course you can get pregnant from just once but every other day ensures sperm us there when egg is released

cereallover · 30/01/2022 17:03

Twice. Although might have just needed the one. I was surprised as I was told I have fibroids and would probably be difficult getting pregnant. I was 35.

USaYwHatNow · 30/01/2022 17:06

First pregnancy that ended in miscarriage in October-fell pregnant first month of trying. Had sex the two days prior to ovulation, skipped a day, then again the day after ovulation.

Had a break whilst recovering from the miscarriage in Nov then end Dec/beginning of Jan we had sex every day for the four days prior to ovulation and I'm now 6 weeks pregnant.

I can't have sex every day/every other day throughout my whole cycle as I want to be able to enjoy it rather than making it feel like a chore.

I use temperature charting, ovulation predictor kits etc to time it a bit better.

sometimespeopletakethepiss · 30/01/2022 18:01

I was initially using opk sticks, the clear blue ovulation ones - still nothing.

I can't win. I've just had enough. Someone mentioned posting on conception. None replies there. I just wanted to know if I'm having enough sex. DH says I'm not but I'm just fucking fed up of it.

Wait what ?! You can ovulate in response to having sex ??? Is there a link to this info 😱😖
tabulahrasa · 30/01/2022 18:12

The first wasn’t planned.

Second I’d spent a year tracking ovulation, planning in sex for that time and two day before and two days after.

The month I actually conceived I didn’t do any of that, I was fed up, but I did have two nights out where I was drinking and came home and jumped my other half, one of those two times was the one that worked, lol

GrannytoaUnicorn · 30/01/2022 18:28

Once

Waxonwaxoff0 · 30/01/2022 18:32

Once, I was on the pill and wasn't trying to conceive but I had been ill with D&V and naively didn't realise this could affect my contraception. I had just turned 22 the month before.

Been extra careful with contraception ever since as I don't want any more children and I haven't been pregnant since then.

Conception is a very fast moving board - trying bumping your post a couple of times if no one replies.

Sadly the posts on this thread bear little resemblance to the Conception posters - this thread is full of 'I barely LOOKED at DH and I was pregnant' which isn't the case for so many.

From the end of your period, have sex every 2-3 days until a couple of days after ovulation.

It may take up to a year, or more, even with regular sex.

OnlyAFleshWound · 30/01/2022 18:48

I've got pregnant every time I've ever had unprotected sex and not taken the morning after pill. 4 times in total.

I agree with those who say the answers on this thread will not be helpful for you in guiding your own situation.

Anonymouslyposting · 30/01/2022 19:37

Once a day, pretty much the same time each day, fell the first month. But we were so lucky it was quick - I doubt we could have kept that up for months on end!

USaYwHatNow · 30/01/2022 21:21

Did you ever get high or peak on your clearblue tests?

NeverForgetYourDreams · 30/01/2022 21:23

Every three days for a month. Pregnant straight away. Didn't even get a period because came off pill after 17 years on it and pregnant straight away. Been careful ever since....!

ChloeHel · 30/01/2022 21:23

Every other day for 10 days during my “fertile window”

NeverForgetYourDreams · 30/01/2022 21:23

Sorry aged 32

sometimespeopletakethepiss · 30/01/2022 21:38

@USaYwHatNow yes I always get a peak, regular ovulation and periods
