How many people have had their last two birthdays during lockdown?

I can’t remember when all the lockdowns have been. I have an April birthday and both of my last two birthdays have been in full lockdown. I am wondering how big a deal to make of the one coming up 😄

me! also april. including a "0" ending one in the first lockdown. i had a big party last autumn to celebrate. go large i say!

Sunsetsupernova · 29/01/2022 19:01

Me! Although last year we were allowed a certain number of people in the garden I think. DP went to B&Q for heaters so my friends could stay a bit later.
This year is my 30th so I’m expecting something big!

AuntieMarys · 29/01/2022 19:01

Mine are May. I had my 60th in lockdown and had a great one!
Takeaway from.local restaurant ...last year had lunch outside at a local pub. This year I'll be on holiday.
I certainly made the best of a shit situation

Following as I also have an April birthday Grin although I literally can’t remember what I even did last year- it’s been completely wiped from memory. Were we in full lockdown last April?

I was just saying to dh the other day that I now calculate my age from when we first locked down/covid as I can never remember how old I am anymore but I had a big birthday the year before the March lockdown!

LefttoherownDevizes · 29/01/2022 19:02

me! Also late April, I daren't plan anything just in case

modgepodge · 29/01/2022 19:03

Any late March/early April people I think. Including my 2 year old daughter who has so far had 100% of her birthdays in lockdown (though of course has no idea about it!)

TulipsGarden · 29/01/2022 19:04

I know someone who's having a 40th, 41st and 42nd birthday party in a few weeks 😆

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 29/01/2022 19:04

My daughter has had her 7th and 8th birthdays in lockdown.

I honestly don't care about restrictions this year, she's having a party.

southlondoner02 · 29/01/2022 19:05

Same here and DD as well. Not sure what to do this year. Am now very nervous about organising anything for any occasion after so much has been cancelled in last 2 years

WildRosie · 29/01/2022 19:05

Just my fiftieth which was January last year.

angryfalafel · 29/01/2022 19:05

Me 🙄
And DCs did last year.

MaizeAmaze · 29/01/2022 19:09

Mid may had one in lockdown, and one rule of 6 outside.
So, maybe upto a quarter of people if March, April, and May all affected

Cookerhood · 29/01/2022 19:12

Yep, late March here. Fingers crossed for this year.

Blueroses99 · 29/01/2022 19:20

DD has an April birthday. Her 3rd was in complete isolation, her grandparents saw her blow out candles on video call. Her 4th was better but still restricted, we met up with 4 friends in a playground and had a little picnic. Now she’s soon to be 5 and so much of her life has been less than normal!

amusedbush · 29/01/2022 19:39

DH is late April and I’m two weeks later. We both turned 30 in the first full lockdown, so that was shite. Then 31 wasn’t much better - hoping for a less depressing 32!

Boood · 29/01/2022 19:42

A very large number of people in the North West, as we were in some kind of lockdown from March- July 2020 and then August 2020- July 2021. So in total we had three months in 2020 and 5 in 2021 with no restrictions. 8 out of 24.

Fhee · 29/01/2022 19:45

Oh @Boood I had forgotten about that, what a terrible time for everyone there. Ridiculously unfair.

At least neither of my birthdays were a big one. Though I like the pp who suggested a 40th, 41st and 42nd birthday all wrapped up together!

chocolatecheesecake · 29/01/2022 19:47

DD (Jan) had last year's birthday in lockdown and was in isolation for her birthday this year. We'll do something with her friends in the summer.

I'm April as well as pp so 2020 was a lockdown birthday, 2021 was meeting outdoors only, looking forward to a normal birthday this year!

MaggieFS · 29/01/2022 19:48

Also April here. I my head, the last two don't count Grin.

But it is making me think of having a get together this year, or some sort.

ShanghaiDiva · 29/01/2022 19:52

My dd had her 14th and 15th birthdays in lockdown.

Camomila · 29/01/2022 20:03

DS1 - 4th and 5th birthdays in lockdown. He's getting a whole class softplay party this year! (Covid permitting)

All the parents seem to have had the same idea, we've been to lots of whole class parties this year Smile

lanbro · 29/01/2022 20:06

Turned 40 in the first lockdown, missing a once in a lifetime holiday too! Last year we were allowed to eat outdoors so had several pretty chilly meals outdoors!

Was hoping for a holiday this year but realised my daughter is on a residential so back to the drawing board! Dsis is 40 this year so we'll be celebrating that with a long weekend abroad

wendz86 · 29/01/2022 20:15

My daughters birthday is April . She had a party in the garden last year and nothing in 2020.

NoLongerTroels · 29/01/2022 20:17

Me, first was in 2020 then 2021 I'm hoping we'll be free to go out this year. Unless something else happens.

Deadringer · 29/01/2022 20:20

I am april too. Mine falls in the Easter holidays this year so will be nice and relaxing. I am too old to care much about birthdays though.
