How many people have had their last two birthdays during lockdown?

I can’t remember when all the lockdowns have been. I have an April birthday and both of my last two birthdays have been in full lockdown. I am wondering how big a deal to make of the one coming up 😄

Last two birthdays and our Anniversaries have been in Lockdown:(

ADialgaAteMyDog · 29/01/2022 20:26

I had my 39th and 40th in lockdown but it was quite nice to not have to do anything! Probably won't bother with anything this year.

BiddyPop · 29/01/2022 21:11

Me, we had clamped down (locally here) in autumn 2020 despite opening up most other parts of the country. In 2021, there was some opening up but we had just moved from about to do 2 days/week in the office to back to fully WFH again.

My youngest has. Early April birthday. They’re having a bowling Peppa party for their 4th as that’s the only thing they’ve asked for!

JuergenSchwarzwald · 29/01/2022 21:14

Me (March). First one wasn't technically quite in lockdown but it was already clear that it probably wasn't too sensible to go to crowded restaurants at that point.

Last year - right in the middle of it.

This year - well we may be coming out of it in the UK, but I still can't/don't want to go overseas because everywhere else has covid passes and strict rules (and Brexit hassle too like long queues at airports etc). So although a milestone birthday this year, not bothering doing anything.

TheNoiseIsDrivingMeMad · 29/01/2022 21:28

Me too, and my 40th and 41st wedding anniversaries.

Kite22 · 29/01/2022 22:07

I think most have us have had both birthdays "with restrictions" if not full lockdown. Remember there was a long time when some of us were in higher tiers than others, and even during - say Aug 20 when we were being positively encourage to "Eat out to Help out", it was still under restrictions, not a free for all.

Same, My 50th was 3rd April 2020 People were insane with it at that point.
Seeline · 29/01/2022 22:12

Me - another April birthday! Also my 25th wedding anniversary was during travel restrictions so couldn't do what we had planned for.

BiddyPop · 30/01/2022 08:49

Actually, dd did as well, as we had restrictions reimposed just before Christmas - fully in 2020 and partially in 2021 (but with serious guidance not to have any gatherings).

The only 1 not in locked down was DH (both) but even then, it wasn't full release (no pubs open here, for example). So no major celebrations.

AnyFucker · 30/01/2022 08:51

Yep. And my retirement for which had a big holiday planned.

Slayduggee · 30/01/2022 08:53

Me (kind of). My big birthday was in early May 2020. Last year it was/wasn’t as shops and outdoor dining was open but this was before pubs/restaurants were allowed to open inside. It pissed down all weekend non-stop!

Quamora · 30/01/2022 09:10

My 39th, then my wedding, then my 40th all in lockdown

languagelover96 · 30/01/2022 10:04

I turned 25 during the lockdown, we had a major celebration secretly at home.

Stookeen · 30/01/2022 10:08

My nine year old.

dorkfink · 30/01/2022 10:10

everyone in my family & extended family 😭

maya71 · 30/01/2022 10:11

Me. First one, the weather was lovely - had a walk & takeaway. Second one, weather was dire. Some restrictions had been lifted so we drove somewhere for a very wet walk, then had a takeaway later. I had been planning to go away somewhere for my 50th. I'm thinking now that we'll go when I'm 55. That'll give it tone for everything to settle now!

maya71 · 30/01/2022 10:12

*time

DelurkingAJ · 30/01/2022 10:34

I turned 40 in lockdown 1. DH is 40 this year. We are planning a big party in the summer to celebrate both! I was almost 41 before I accepted that I was 40 due to the lack of much anticipated (by me only) 40th birthday party.

DelurkingAJ · 30/01/2022 10:36

And poor DS2 whose 4th birthday party was booked for the first weekend of lockdown 1. We’ve promised him a full class party this year as he’s missed two birthday parties whereas DS1 flukily managed two small parties because his birthday is in the autumn.

Eslteacher06 · 30/01/2022 10:44

Mine and my daughters were both in march. My 40th was ruined in the first lockdown. DH asked me what I wanted to do this year and we basically had a row about the lack of effort he put into it.

But yes, birthdays...what are those? Lol

Hauntingnotespizzicatostrings · 30/01/2022 11:15

Me and my eldest. For myself I wish it was another lockdown birthday, suits me very nicely 🤣 for my son i’m so happy his will (touch wood) be out of lockdown this year as it’s his 16th and he deserves a super amazing day!

Squirrelblanket · 30/01/2022 12:06

Me! Late April. I was 40 in the first one. In the second one we weren't locked down but you could only drink outside and not in large groups so it was effectively the same thing.

This year I have two nights booked away with my mum in Harrogate. On the day we leave there, my mum is going home and my husband is collecting me to spend a further two nights in a fancy hotel in the Yorkshire Dales. Smile

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 30/01/2022 12:11

Me, dh, both DC
20th (and 21st) wedding anniversary, 50th, 51st, 9th, 10th, 12th, 13th birthdays all uncelebrated. Funerals of those who deserved so much more.

DH’s birthday is in the summer, he’s actually managed to have a meal out and fish n chips at the coast. He’s not a big boozer.

FarmCat31 · 30/01/2022 12:14

It’ll be my second lockdown birthday tomorrow Wine
