I really need a warmer coat for outdoors at work (nursery TA) & have been looking at this one on Vinted.

I think these marks are just from wear & it should wash up ok. I just wondered what someone else thought really...

Do you think these marks are just from wear & might wash out?

That coat is absolutely manky! Completely filthy. Who the fuck puts something that dirty up for sale without washing it?

Snozwanger · 29/01/2022 17:20

It is a bit of a risk but it does just look like it needs a good wash. If it's cheap enough you could risk it but if it's the sort of person that can't be bothered to wash before taking pictures, who knows what else could be wrong..broken zips, holes in pockets?

ApolloandDaphne · 29/01/2022 17:23

That coat is manky. There is no way I would buy it! It looks like it might smell bad too.

How much are they asking, it looks really grubby and oily.

lucysmam · 29/01/2022 17:25

I hadn't thought about potential broken zips/pockets. More about cost & potentially getting paint on it (or whatever else we're using), and maybe being a bit warmer than I am in the ancient one I'm currently using for work.

It's just over £9, including postage.

I’m a scruff and I wouldn’t buy OR sell that.

BellaVita · 29/01/2022 17:26

Am sorry but I wouldn’t buy it with marks on like that.

It looks like sweaty facial oil/grease.

TikTokCat · 29/01/2022 17:27

Go to primark and get a new coat. That is rank

Rangoon · 29/01/2022 17:27

That's body oil round the edge of the hood. You will have a very hard job getting it out I should think. It will need proper rubbing with stain removing soap and even then I wouldn't be too sure it would come out.

BelleEnderman · 29/01/2022 17:27

Ugh that looks absolutely grim. Primark or the supermarkets should sell something 100% better than that for not that much more money.

PeakyBlender · 29/01/2022 17:27

That's disgusting. Don't buy that one.

Nsky · 29/01/2022 17:27

Offer a bit less, good wash, pre spot stains, should be ok

gunnersgold · 29/01/2022 17:29

Why don't you just wash it? Vanish and fairy liquid around the black marks .

coldfeetmama · 29/01/2022 17:29

I'd not buy that for a quid , I've seen marks like that before and they don't seem like they would wash out
Please visit a local charity shop and see what you can find

gunnersgold · 29/01/2022 17:29

Oh sorry I see it's not yours .

Lady0racle · 29/01/2022 17:30

No. You could get a nice coat in a charity shop for £9.

Fuuuuuckit · 29/01/2022 17:31

That's minging op.

You'd be better doing a charity shop run.

FoamBurst · 29/01/2022 17:31

Just go to primark. I got a lovely long one warm etc for 20.

Ohyesiam · 29/01/2022 17:33

All the seller to launder it with Ariel? Point out it’s unlikely to sell like that but if it comes up ok you’ll have it.

Get a new one in the sales. That one is absolutely filthy. I don't know how they can sell it in that state.

TheCanyon · 29/01/2022 20:43

What size are you? I'd rather send you a spare coat of mine than you making do with this.

Skeumorph · 29/01/2022 20:43

Urgh!! No I dont think that would clean up - the grease and grime looks absolutely ground in.

WeAreTheHeroes · 29/01/2022 20:47

That's revolting: who tries to sell something like that without cleaning it first. I suspect it may be dry clean only and that's why it's not been washed. Rank.

MaizeAmaze · 29/01/2022 20:48

I know its nearly three times the price, but could you stretch to £25 in Primark?

Justilou1 · 29/01/2022 20:50

Nooooo! It’s grease!
