How have you ruined your child's life? (Lighthearted)

(Let's keep this lighthearted)

Today I ruined DD's life by giving her the blue bowl when apparently I should've given her the Pooh Bear bowl. Cue a good twenty minutes of screaming. 🙃

How have you ruined your children's lives today? 😂

Apparently I could ruin their lives by looking at them wrongly. 🙄🤣

Topseyt · 21/01/2022 17:11

I also once ruined DD1's life by insisting she came back from her friend's house (just next door) to do the washing up she had left adorning the kitchen after she had baked chocolate brownie.

I was unpopular then, but she never left it lying around again!

GrapefruitPink · 21/01/2022 17:12

By getting a biscuit out for him, he wanted a different one.
Same biscuit but just a different one?

Seainasive · 21/01/2022 17:15

Oh every day by insisting that school shoes are cleaned!

edwinbear · 21/01/2022 17:16

I ruin 12yr old DS's life by breathing. And daring to speak to his friends Grin

Houseofvelour · 21/01/2022 17:19

I'm already chuckling at these! 😂

@GrapefruitPink my kids do this alllll the time. Like every single item of food. 🙈

By making my son qear trousers and not shorts to school. And thus breaking his 3 year run of wearing shorts every day. (He has just recovered from his second bout of covid after having it end Nov so we want him wrapped up for a bit....)

Scotstar · 21/01/2022 17:21

Because he's not 5 until august and doesn't want to be 4 anymore

HealthKickFM · 21/01/2022 17:27

She bit me on the way home from school so I said we couldn't go to the library or get a takeaway for tea.

Apparently I'm the worst mum in the world and it's my own fault she bit me.

GAW19 · 21/01/2022 17:31

My DP cut our 2.5yo DD's smiley face chicken nugget in half... honestly, she was absolutely distraught Grin

DMCWelshcakes · 21/01/2022 17:38

I insist on unreasonable things like washing and going to bed.

But my worst torture is insisting that they have their bedroom floors are clear so that if something happened in the night then assistance wouldn't be scuppered by tripping over a playmobil castle or treading on a load of lego.

trunktoes · 21/01/2022 17:41

I dusted her shelves

My 37 year old son claims I scarred him for life because I made him wear corduroy trousers

I gave her a sibling 9 years ago

Phos · 21/01/2022 17:58

I didn’t do a full party tea complete with balloons and disco lights on a random Friday for just the three. of us

FanGirlX · 21/01/2022 18:00

Making her have a bath, washing her hair, brushing her hair. I am enemy no 1 after any of that.

Not letting her stay up late to watch grown up tv. She kicked me for that one on Saturday.

My car broke down on Sunday and we ran out of biscuits while waiting for the RAC. I don't think she will ever get over that one 😂

BlowDryRat · 21/01/2022 18:02

Having parental controls set on DS' phone.

This, except it's 18 years. Hmm
EllieSattler · 21/01/2022 18:06

I cooked meatballs for dinner. The meatballs he selected in the supermarket, asked me to cook, and has enjoyed many times in the pasta.

Insisted that he get in the bath

Then again when I made him get out of the bath once it was cold and he had goosebumps.

SusanSHelit · 21/01/2022 18:09

I made him eat his dinner before he could have a brownie. The special Friday dinner he hadn't shut up about all week and had been really looking forward to.

I didn't even say he couldn't have the brownie. I said he could have it warm with ice cream if he wanted but he needed to eat his dinner, which was being plated up, first

MintyGreenDream · 21/01/2022 18:10

I asked him to get me a puppy pad
