Am I pregnant

Okay so here goes,
I have been on the coil for a year and a half. I have the worst periods on it and I’m being investigated for endometriosis.
I haven’t had a period for 2 months now with one very light bleed on the 5th of January. I had a weird craving for salad cream so I thought, let’s just do a test to be sure yano? Test was a very feint positive, I had two of them and some negatives. My blood work came back negative as well.
I just feel pregnant, sick, tired and bloated. I know the pregnant feeling as I have three kids ((two are twins)). Anyone been in this situation and been pregnant? Idk what to do

If you've had negative tests then no you're not pregnant. What age are you, could be peri menopause?

Jh1998 · 20/01/2022 09:59

@SmellyOldOwls I’m only 23 so I don’t think it’s that, I hope not anyway. I’m just confused as to why I had positives

Not pregnant by the sound of it. Could be it be peri-menopause? Many women are reporting changes to menstrual cycle on yellow card scheme, after COVID vaccine. Has anything else changed?

23 definitely shouldn’t be menopause related. What does your GP say?

TheDaydreamBelievers · 20/01/2022 10:05

If your bloods are negative, you aren't pregnant I'm afraid! GP should take more active steps if no period within 3mo

Jh1998 · 20/01/2022 10:06

@Roselilly36 I’ve had the vaccine but this was last year way back and I had periods after. I thought it was that at first but then with two missed periods after never really missing a period (other than my last periods). My gp said if I miss another one to come back in for another blood test. I just can’t afford to have another child, as horrible as that sounds our life couldn’t handle another one. I’m just so scared of having another child

Did you test positive and then negative? What did the last test say?

Jh1998 · 20/01/2022 10:12

@MissSmiley my last test was a feint positive (pee stick)

OP posts:
MissSmiley · 20/01/2022 10:15

I've never had a second line and not been pregnant, five kids, but I do understand false positives can happen, I would test again in a few days and see if the line gets darker or if your period arrives.

Jh1998 · 20/01/2022 10:16

@MissSmiley all of my pregnancies have been feint positives. Like my first pregnancy the dr told me I wasn’t pregnant it was so feint

OP posts:
MissSmiley · 20/01/2022 10:21

I think if I was you I'd speak to my dr and be honest that you want to rule out pregnancy as soon as possible because you're considering a termination if it's positive, the sooner you know for sure the more time you'll have.

Jh1998 · 20/01/2022 10:22

@MissSmiley I told her I didn’t want to be pregnant and would like a termination but she said because the blood test came back negative there’s nothing she can do

You also need to have them check your coil is still in place, can you still feel the strings?

Jh1998 · 20/01/2022 10:28

@MissSmiley I’m pretty sure it’s still in! I’m going to call later and explain it all to her

Good luck, let us know how you get on

Jh1998 · 20/01/2022 10:32

@MissSmiley I will. Thank you for the quick response everyone Grin
@MissSmiley my last test was a feint positive (pee stick)
I'd go back to the GP to get this checked, as even faint positives are usually positive, so long as they come up in the time period.

(It's faint, not feint, by the way).

Roselilly36 · 20/01/2022 11:05

Good luck OP. Definitely warrants investigation.

MissSmiley · 22/01/2022 13:21

@Jh1998 how are you? Any clearer?

Jh1998 · 22/01/2022 13:44

@MissSmiley have an internal scan on the 10th of feb. Leaving it a week till I do another test. Thanks for checking in x

@Jh1998 waiting is the hardest, keep taking if it helps
I'm waiting to find out about surgery, the days are dragging

Jh1998 · 23/01/2022 13:00

@MissSmiley I hope you don’t have to wait too long! I agree waiting is the harde St thing especially with health related things. Just had a one day period and now nothing so who knows what’s going on xx

What coil do you have? The mirena coil can cause irregular/heavy periods for ages until it settles down and totally stops your periods.
In terms of false positive pregnancy tests, blue dye tests are terrible for faint lines/dye runs!

I convinced myself I was pregnant once in a pretty similar scenario lol.

Jh1998 · 23/01/2022 13:56

@VioletRose91 yeah that’s the coil I’m on. I’ve just always had heavy very long periods so then stopping is just crazy to me ahah. I hate missing periods bcos yeah you convince yourSelf you’re pregnant. I have a scan soon though, and I’m also under investigation for endometriosis so it could be something to do with that. Who knows

VioletRose91 · 23/01/2022 22:21

Yup I have endo aswell as pcos so my periods come and go, I haven’t had a period since the start of December, done lots of preg tests it gets expensive after a while lol! Whatever you do don’t buy Asda’s or Tesco’s own brand I had false positives with them!
