Have I missed any decent new dramas lately? Not holding my breath...

It's a faint hope, but can anyone recommend anything decent that's come out recently? We tried C4's "Screw" last night and thought it was bloody awful. Have watched the new series of the Bay, that was all right. I feel like there should have been some new drama over the Christmas period, there is usually something worth watching, but we all had Covid over Christmas and I sort of slept through it!

Sorry it's a dull thread.

If you have Disney+ Dopesick is fantastic.

AgnesNaismith · 19/01/2022 18:35

Stay Close on Netflix?

sadpapercourtesan · 19/01/2022 18:36

We do have Disney+, I'll check that out, thanks Smile

We prefer non-American drama though, as a rule.

I loved the Girl Before You.

Safe is quite engaging

Tillymintpolo · 19/01/2022 18:40

Have you watched ‘Anne’ ?

Abracadabra12345 · 19/01/2022 18:41

I agree with the recommendations for Stay Close!

JoanDarc · 19/01/2022 18:46

Stay Close is excellent and we’re now watching Safe which is by the same writer and even better IMO. I have recently finished Anne and it was truly moving, Maxine Peake was outstanding, would definitely recommend.

I agree with the recommendations for Stay Close!
Just finished it and was disappointed by the end.

I'm currently watching Four Lives on iplayer, based on a true story about the Grindr Killer. Sad, but good. Just 3 episodes

Second this! I loved Claire Foy as the queen and this hit the spot. Wish it was longer!
buckeejit · 19/01/2022 18:51

Watching with interest - a lot are due out in Jan I think.

If you have prime, I recommend undone. It's a weird sort of animation but I really liked it.

A lot of good true crime on Netflix. Haven't watched anything really good for ages

Matbest · 19/01/2022 18:52

The Girl Before I think it was called- really good drama on BBC over Christmas

pinkpanther84 · 19/01/2022 18:53

Four lives and You don't know me on bbc iPlayer. Stay close on Netflix

ErickBroch · 19/01/2022 18:54

Stay Close was terrible, honestly awful, partner and I feel like we are in dreamland with people loving it. Checked reviews online after and it seems most TV reviewers do agree thankfully and I am not just bonkers.
I am going to watch A Very British Scandal later! Hope it's good.

jclm · 19/01/2022 19:00

The adulterer on channel 4 catch up - Dutch and really engaging

Yes! Snap! Gave up after an hour. Truly cringe inducing! Enjoyed A V British Scandal though! Also lots of scandi crime on Netflix, if that's your bag?
AsYouWishButtercup · 19/01/2022 19:33

I’ll second Dopesick on Disney+ - absolutely extraordinary!

AsYouWishButtercup · 19/01/2022 19:34

Stay Close was very amusing if you live in the North West because they go from Morecmabe to Blackpool in about 2 minutes. Twist was ridiculous and the main character decides to form a brand new identity and a new life…20 unites away from where she escaped Hmm
