Short term and long term would be nice as I'm looking for some inspiration for things to do to look forward to.

Shorter term, I'm looking forward to the first pots I ever planted starting to bloom and longer term I'm looking forward to being able to travel to see my DD in Canada hopefully before the end of the year.

Short term; looking forward to going out for dinner at my favourite restaurant tomorrow and to my wedding anniversary at the start of February

Long term; looking forward to a holiday in South Africa (hopefully) in October

WakeUpLockie · 18/01/2022 12:30

Oooh, Canada!! Top of my list to visit, lucky you!

Immediate term: eating a caramel egg DH just bought me, sending lots of stuff to charity shop and out of house, nice country walk.

This year: Easter eggs/spring in general, new baby, holiday to Greece hopefully/summer in general, start of extension.

Long term: losing a load of weight and being done with it, forging a career

WakeUpLockie · 18/01/2022 12:31

Ooh and 10 year anniversary this year but probably won’t do much because of aforementioned new baby.

Londono · 18/01/2022 13:10

Immediate term is a good one! And congratulations on the forthcoming new baby, @WakeUpLockie.

I think an immediate one for me will be using my new Aeropress later today.

Happy anniversary, @Shoxfordian. Enjoy your meal out

Short term, looking forward to dinner out on Wednesday evening to celebrate 4 years together with my fella 😊

Handonheart2015 · 18/01/2022 14:35

Short term I'm looking forward to Spring time, I'm not a winter person.

Long term, I can't wait to have our extension build and have a lovely family Christmas with a big dining table.

Bloodybridget · 18/01/2022 14:36

My lovely niece and 3mo great-niece staying with us on Saturday night - I've only seen baby twice and both times her toddler DB has been around so I haven't quite had free rein to coo over her!
A week in the Lake District with DP and DSiL soon; hopefully we won't freeze our (metaphorical) nuts off.
Wearing the two new sweaters I found in M&S yesterday, both in the sale and the only ones I've seen for ages that I liked, and were in my size and affordable.

EileenGC · 18/01/2022 14:41

Short term: meeting a friend for coffee tomorrow, haven’t seen her in a year. She’s in the city for one day and then moving to Estonia next week, permanently. Really excited to catch up and wish her well.

Medium term: going home to London and presenting some work there for the first time since Covid. I can’t wait - 4 weeks left!

Long term: combined work trip and holidays to US and Canada. If work trip goes well, lots of opportunities in the next 5 years and hopefully a few more international moves.

Burns Night meal out with DH & DS

Friend's surprise 40th birthday party

DS(16) work experience in a 'high end' kitchen in London, so DH & I can have a little break there too

Niece's wedding

Visiting DH's elderly 'auntie' and taking HRT out for dinner. We've not seen her in over two years now.

NewYearNewMinty · 18/01/2022 14:43

Immediate: Thai Chicken curry for dinner tonight. Haven't had it for ages, got all the ingredients last week then DD announced she'd never really liked it, so have been waiting for her to be at her dad's for the evening!

Short term: hopefully finding a new job and being able to have a decent night out on my first payday!

Long term: holiday in Yorkshire this summer...Harrogate Crime Festival then a week at a cottage with a hot tub near Haworth...on my own...bliss!

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 18/01/2022 15:31

The Spring when bulbs come up.

skellingtonboot · 18/01/2022 15:53

Seeing my daughter and grandchildren come through the arrivals door at the airport in a couple of days (it's been 6 months).

The following week we have a hastily scheduled visit to the UK (very elderly MIL is unwell) which means that I will get to see my newest grand-daughter for only the second time since she was born last year.

Can't wait Grin

StarryNightSparkles · 18/01/2022 16:01

What a lovely thread.

Short term - eating my homemade quiche that's in the oven and getting my new kitchen designed and fitted in the next few weeks. Never had a new kitchen before. I am hoping kitchens take weeks rather than months.

Long term - looking forward to our family holiday with adult ds, our lovely daughter in law to be and our new grandchild. Still to find and book UK holiday home.

EishetChayil · 18/01/2022 16:03

Short term: dinner tonight, which is cheese & onion crispbakes. A favourite!

Long term: finish my PhD so I can concentrate on my writing again, as an agent is interested in my work-in-progress.

Short term - me and DH are going out to a nice restaurant at the end of this month, our first 'date night' since our baby was born last June!

Long term - seeing how my son grows and develops this year, I really want to be present and appreciate it as time seems to be going so fast! Also looking forward to going on our first family holiday to Spain in August this year.
