Short term and long term would be nice as I'm looking for some inspiration for things to do to look forward to.

Shorter term, I'm looking forward to the first pots I ever planted starting to bloom and longer term I'm looking forward to being able to travel to see my DD in Canada hopefully before the end of the year.

Joining our best friends for 10 days in the Caribbean at Easter. We haven't been able to see them in over 2 years, and we've missed them so much. Then holidaying with the same best friends for 10 days on Lake Como in July.

Short term - I’m looking forward to a ‘side step’ at work, I know I’m going to be much happier and just need to tough out my current role for another week and a half. It will likely be a messy transition but worth it 😁

Long term - buying our forever home, and finally settling somewhere. Should hopefully be next year.

upinaballoon · 18/01/2022 18:52

Short term - going to see Tosca at the cinema tomorrow.

Long term - I planted an oak tree a few days ago. I so hope it will be there when I am long gone.

In the short term, I am greatly looking forward:- to the spring; to longer and brighter days; to flowers and leaves bursting forth again; to feeling the sun on my skin; to smelling the scent of thousands of bluebells in the woods; to hunting for a patch of shade in the garden on a hot afternoon; to picking raspberries in the garden; to long walks in the late evening sunshine.

In the longer term, I can't think of a single thing that I'm looking forward to!

Immediate term... A cup of rooibos tea and some maltesers
Short term... Both DC finishing their COVID isolation and being able to go back to school next week.
Longer term... A holiday! Yet to be booked.

This weekend I'm going away to a spa hotel with my dh, going out to dinner and having a facial the next morning and then a spot of shopping. The following weekend we are away for 2 nights in a hotel with the dc and we're going to see a show, visit museums etc. Can't wait!!

myhousebuild · 18/01/2022 20:24

Long term...this year we are building our new home!! I'm so excited!

Short term, out on Thursday for a friends birthday and a couple of nights out planned over next week or so to celebrate/commiserate another friends new diplomatic posting - she has a great new opportunity but I will miss her! Longer term depends on covid restrictions but we have some girly weekends to catch up on - so maybe 2 this year. Malaga, Seville or Malta are currently under discussion. As dd is 18 this year and has her own plans, dh and I are also discussing where to go and when as no longer restricted to school holidays. Matera in Italy is on the list. Visit to friends in Austin, Tx. Maybe a long weekend in Venice. Also on the same theme, at work we should hopefully be able to travel again this year. My main contacts are in Barcelona, Prague, Athens, and Casablanca - we talk every week about finally meeting up in person and who is getting the drinks in Grin. Also, and maybe most importantly, to see friends and family in the UK that I haven't seen for 2 years.

Two year old's molars to be finally through so I can go back to sleeping at night and during the day not have a permanent whiny leg attachment.

Champagneforeveryone · 19/01/2022 07:58

Long term(ish) - moving into our first house. Estate agents think we should complete by the end of February.

Short term - going to bed after a long night shift Wink Just need to pick DS up from the garage and drop him at college so his car can be MOT'd first.

sofakingcool · 19/01/2022 08:06

Short term - hopefully a weekend away with DH at Easter ( partly looking forward to, partly nervous as leaving children)

Long term - hoping by next Christmas we will have moved house, or be on the verge of it!

Mydogisagentleman · 19/01/2022 08:32

Short term, friends coming for a long weekend, looking forward to lovely food and wine, Trip out to a poncy craft and generally expensive little shops and lunch, followed by a walk on the beach with the dog.
Long term, going to see our flat that we bought in December and haven’t been able to get back to visit in Spain in March

TheGratefulBread · 19/01/2022 09:52

Short term - meeting a friend for lunch tomorrow, who I haven't seen for a while, so really looking forward to that.

Bouledeneige · 19/01/2022 09:55
