Three car seat cars!

Hit me up with your suggestions please!

I know there’s been previous posts on this but I’m aware new cars are coming out all of the time.

Thanks!

Multimac.com do 3 and 4 seat benches that fit in the back of most large cars.

I did see that but my husband isn’t keen and I can’t remember why 😂 do you have one?

I can fit 3 in my Ford EcoSport and also n my husbands Honda CRV

jessieminto · 16/01/2022 19:02

Sadly not enough kids to warrant getting one myself but this literally saved a friend from divorce. She bought a car without checking she could get 3 seats in the back, then had to problem solve it while her DH fumed. They were very happy with it until the kids were old enough for just the little boosters.

I wanted 3 across as we didn't want to lose boot space by using the 2nd row constantly. We've ended up with Peugeot 5008. I really like ot. Boot space is huge for pram and all our luggage of weekends away, easily fit weekly shopping along with the baby's pram without having to play jenga.

Ah, that one has seats in the boot right? Are they adult friendly?

I’ll look into this again 😂

Dd and Sil have 7 seat VW, was 2nd hand. Can find out model if you want.
Previous car could not take seats for a 3 and a 4 year old, plus a small baby seat.

bunnypenny · 16/01/2022 20:41

We are picking up a 5008 on Weds!

DarlingDarwin · 16/01/2022 20:42

Yes please. I wonder if it’s the Sharan.

Vauxhall Zafira is great or Ford Galaxy.

grey12 · 16/01/2022 20:44

VW Sharan Wink

Ford s-max is the one that all my friends with 3 little ones have. We bought one as we had a three year old and new born twins, so needed to fit three ‘proper’ car seats in (plus double buggy etc etc). It was fab. A bit dull but definitely did exactly what we needed it to do.

grey12 · 16/01/2022 20:50

It is fantastic for our family, especially since we live with the inlaws so everyone fits in the car when needed Grin also in the winter it's a lot of volume of stuff I carry: the winter jackets plus accessories, bags, pushchair, blankets to put on top of them if they're cold in the morning school run.... the extra space makes it more relaxing

We've got a Citroën c4 Picasso and could fit a rear facing britax (one that stays in the car, not the carry type one), and 2 high backed boosters across the back. We didn't want a 7 seater so this did the job. Its got excellent boot space too!

Fernyfloor · 16/01/2022 22:16

Caddy maxi life can fit three across the back. Its a 7 seater with the two extra seats being large enough that I can sit in and I'm 5'6".
My lot don't all need car seats now, but having the extra seats on long trips is great because we can split the kids up!

TheWreckofHesperus · 16/01/2022 22:17

We have a VW sharan, which was great for three seats across the middles when the kids were younger. The slidy doors are also ace for doing up straps in narrow car parks etc

Before we had the sharan we had a zafira, but that would only fit 2 high back car seats across the middle row.

grey12 · 17/01/2022 07:36

@TheWreckofHesperus why don't more cars have slidy doors? They're amazing!

Trillio · 17/01/2022 07:43

Volvo XC90! Huge and great boot space. 2 seats in boot if needed. The back seat fits 3 proper car seats (like a PP, we had baby twins and a 2 year old). We currently have 3 of the same car seat across the back for them and the top of the car seat is wide but it all fits.

GuckGuckDoose · 17/01/2022 07:47

If you join the ‘Car Seat Advice UK’ Facebook group there are loads of posts about this, and it’s moderated so you will get up to date, safe advice.

The Multimac, for example, has an extremely low rear-facing weight limit so is not safe for larger babies and toddlers.

whoami24601 · 17/01/2022 07:49

I have a Citroen C4 Grand Picasso and absolutely love it! I can easily fit 3 seats across the middle but then also have the boot seats if needed. The boot is huge but what make the difference for me is the masses of room around the car. If I have 2 people in the boot I can still fit in a pram and all our bags because it's a clever design. The only downside is the underfloor storage which means no car seats with an isofix 'leg' unless you pay to get it filled in.

Bigassbeebuzzbuzz · 17/01/2022 07:50

I used to be able to get 3 in an old style zafira.

HappyAsASandboy · 17/01/2022 08:21

I have had three seats across the back in a VW Touran and a SEAT Alhambra (same car as a VW Sharan, just cheaper cos it has SEAT badges rather than than VW!).

I love the sliding doors on the SEAT Alhambra/VW Sharan. Getting three car seats across the back also means getting small people in/out of seats in car parks. Sliding doors help enormously!
