What was the name of the show dedicated to love songs (think it was a Sunday night?)

Oh I remember that! Although the one I’m thinking of was a local radio station so i don’t know if it’s the same one? They had callers ring up and talk about their love life dilemmas with an ‘expert’. The expert, he may have also been the dj, had a slow and deep voice.
Can’t remember the name of the show though sorry, will try and rack my brains.

Is it not Late Night Love Songs? Or am I getting mixed up with Magic?

voxnihili · 14/01/2022 21:25

AmazingBouncingFerret · 14/01/2022 21:42

I don’t remember Capital’s but Graham Torrington’s Late Night Love was legendary!

That was the one I was thinking of.

Good times.

LethargeMarg · 14/01/2022 21:46

Oh my god yes - graham torrington- and there were some insane 'love stories' he would read out that in hindsight were probably red flag central!!

Pinkypie86 · 14/01/2022 21:48

RosieSpark · 14/01/2022 22:00

I think Capital's was called The Love Zone, although I seem to remember it as Friday and Saturday nights so possibly not what you're thinking of.

BahHumbygge · 14/01/2022 22:02

Mellow madness?

dayswithaY · 14/01/2022 22:04

I remember when I worked late nights driving home listening to Graham Torrington, I was heartbroken at the time and it made me feel so much better to know I wasn't the only one.

Also used to listen to Big George's phone in on BBC London, he wrote the theme tune to Have I Got News For You, he died quite suddenly.

I love late night radio.
