Boris' 'family member' has Covid...Carrie, Wilf, or just an excuse

SnoopyLovesLucy · 13/01/2022 10:33

Is it Carrie? Or Wilf? Or is he wanting to avoid questions on the planned trip to Lancashire?

As an anyone but the Tories voter, I hope Johnson remains in charge as long as possible!

This is true. Good old Boris, what a laugh he is!
Chemenger · 13/01/2022 12:26

Safest assumption is that if he said it it’s either a straight up lie or at the very best a loose interpretation of the truth. It’s definitely an excuse. I would imagine he’ll test positive soon so he can isolate. He’ll regret shortening the isolation period.

Charliesgotachocolatefactory · 13/01/2022 12:29

Excuse! At least he’s consistent in not following the rules 🤣

CheeseMmmm · 13/01/2022 12:30

Lie.

He loves a good hide when shit hits fan.

SickAndTiredAgain · 13/01/2022 12:32

Or if it's his wife, is he using a bit of emergency parental leave and looking after his own youngest DC until other arrangements are made?

Hahahaha

Phos · 13/01/2022 12:33

Could be any of them. Could even be the new baby.

But of course because it’s Boris it’s automatically an excuse isn’t it. Next time you have to isolate let’s all just say it’s an excuse not to go to work.

Cornettoninja · 13/01/2022 12:36

Apologies @greenlynx - it’s hard to tell on here sometimes!

OhWhyNot · 13/01/2022 12:38

It is an excuse if he has been fully vaccinated

Many of us still are going into work as we need to be there (we take a LFT)

He needs to act as PM as that is what he has been elected to do not drop out when the going gets a bit tough

Probably is he has been flying high for so long he has always managed to pull off his bumbling act to charm the public (I know not all) but this time he will be faced with hostility and he doesn’t want to deal with it.

Seeline · 13/01/2022 12:38

Well they've just cut the isolation period with symptoms down to 5 days, so he's not going to get much of a break Grin

CheeseMmmm · 13/01/2022 12:38

Hmmmmm

Thought hold on trip today cancelled was to vaccine centre pretty sure, definitely not an outing that would be much fun right now!

Thought better check, saw on beeb but early live update thingy.

Now all bozza stuff way down list and yay handy distraction lower quarantine period.

AND references to lancs, reason trip gone AWOL!!!!

Checked Google yup covid centre.

That's really really weird. Sure one bit checked was same but that info just melted away...

CheeseMmmm · 13/01/2022 12:40

I mean just says lancs now.

Earlier sure included where going as only looked BBC today, not had radio TV on.

That's a funny old thing now isn't it.

He’s got a lot of dc to get through… I mean he’d actually have to see them publicly for it to wash but it’s an option.
Howshouldibehave · 13/01/2022 12:40

If a member of my household tests positive, I have to go to work and teach classes of 30.

Why is he isolating?

Don't be ridiculous. He's a proven liar.

TheHoptimist · 13/01/2022 13:02

But most people would be expected in work if vaccinated..
uncomfortablydumb53 · 13/01/2022 14:10

He's probably got a hangover from drowning his sorrows yesterday

kickupafuss · 13/01/2022 14:17

Why is he isolating? Does this mean I can have paid time off if a family member tests positive?

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 13/01/2022 14:24

My comment on the "Will the PM be at PMQs today?" thread at 06.3hrs yesterday:

maybe he needs a test and some isolation? Wink

Maybe Carrie is on MN?

Seeline · 13/01/2022 14:27

They haven't said he is isolating, just that the visit to a vaccination hub was cancelled.

Notonthestairs · 13/01/2022 14:31

"Boris Johnson has cancelled a visit to Lancashire after a family member tested positive for coronavirus.
The prime minister will follow official guidance, including taking daily tests and limiting contact with other people, a Downing Street spokesperson said."

Hhmmm.

userlotsanumbers · 13/01/2022 14:32

Us Lancastrians were waiting and ready. And therein lay the problem. No way would he have risked that, convenience covid it is!
