Boris' 'family member' has Covid...Carrie, Wilf, or just an excuse

SnoopyLovesLucy · 13/01/2022 10:33

Is it Carrie? Or Wilf? Or is he wanting to avoid questions on the planned trip to Lancashire?

Excuse.

Even if it is true I’m confident that his team could employ extra measures to accommodate his duties as a slightly higher risk close contact i.e move any meetings outdoors/well ventilated spaces and distanced, regular testing, use of partitions in cars and ensuring ventilation, he could double mask etc.

Danikm151 · 13/01/2022 11:11

last time there was a scandal his mrs had a baby the next day to distract.... not like they had enough time to pull that trick off.

he's a joke

PinkWaferBiscuit · 13/01/2022 11:13

Wow what spectacularly convinient timing.... Of course it's an excuse.

As others have said he actually doesn't now need to isolate so even if it was true he could still go out and face the music. It is absolutely another varient on his patented fridge hiding strategy and he's naively hoping people's frustration will have died down in 7-10 days time.

greenlynx · 13/01/2022 11:17

The guidance says that if someone in your household is tested positive and you have symptoms you should do a PCR test, stay at home and wait for its result. I bet Boris has a huge headache after yesterday and headache is one of main symptoms for Covid.
He also could have dizziness, tiredness, muscle pains, even a cough and other hangover symptoms after yesterday which could indicate Covid 19 as well.

LadyCatStark · 13/01/2022 11:20

It’s an excuse.

ancientgran · 13/01/2022 11:26

@OhWhyNot

If he is fully vaccinated he doesn’t need to self isolate

My guess he shall have catch Covid again …..

Reminds me of being injured in a road traffic accident. I came round and looked up to see all these people gazing down at me and I just decided to switch off so lost consciousness until the police and ambulance arrived. I think convenience covid would be similar.
ancientgran · 13/01/2022 11:28

@HappydaysArehere

One thing you can be sure of it’s a lie.
Like Judge Judy says, "How can you tell he's lying, his lips are moving."
OhWhyNot · 13/01/2022 11:29

Yes those that needed to self isolate at an alarming rate since we have been in the pandemic now seem to have Covid symptoms very frequently

It’s a great get out excuse

ilovesooty · 13/01/2022 11:32

It's an excuse but he can't hide for ever.

GnomeDePlume · 13/01/2022 11:32

I dunno, it could be an excuse or could be the worst timing in the world because everyone thinks it is an excuse

MsFogi · 13/01/2022 11:33

@YogaLite

He Guardian article describes him today as a turd that wouldn't flush Grin
Spot on!! I thought the rules now don't require him to isolate?!?
Hemingwayzcatz · 13/01/2022 11:33

Haha, how very convenient. He obviously thinks everyone is as dopey as him so will buy it.

Mrsjayy · 13/01/2022 11:35

Definitely this !

AlecTrevelyan006 · 13/01/2022 11:35

Boy who cried wolf innit…

I mean, most people have long known that he’s not especially trustworthy but now even his previous supporters no longer believe him about anything. He has zero credibility.

MadeForThis · 13/01/2022 11:37

Boris doesn't have a clue about the rules. Why bother with the details. He's PM!

AlexaShutUp · 13/01/2022 11:38

Probably his brother's goldfish or something.

Grin
SickAndTiredAgain · 13/01/2022 11:41

I’d put money on this being convenience covid - or a family member does have it but not one he’s actually seen recently.

I’m similarly sceptical about Djokovic conveniently catching it last month so he could try to use it as a way round Australia’s rules.

Jjjayfee · 13/01/2022 11:41

Perhaps he fancied a lie in..he always seems to be lying!

FindingMeno · 13/01/2022 11:42

Strangely enough I don't believe him.

BettyfromBristol · 13/01/2022 11:52

I wouldn't believe BJ if he said today was Thursday.

AllPowerfulLizardPerson · 13/01/2022 11:55

Does this mean he is not fully vaccinated? For if he were, then there would be no need to isolate.

Or if it's his wife, is he using a bit of emergency parental leave and looking after his own youngest DC until other arrangements are made?

Cornettoninja · 13/01/2022 11:59

Well then his statement should be that he’s isolating because he has symptoms.

He’s not helping any remaining confusion by isolating ‘just’ for being a contact. He can carry on as normal (although best practice is to take extra precautions) as someone fully vaccinated because he can takes daily LFT’s.

It’s a shit excuse.

Mrsjayy · 13/01/2022 12:00

I'm sure there is a Nanny to look after the children I can't see him taking any emergency leave to care for the children. He was working the next day after the youngest baby was born!

greenlynx · 13/01/2022 12:11

@Cornettoninja
I know, I’m trying to be sarcastic but avoid swearing words.

Of course, it’s an excuse. He’s finally decided to follow Angela Rayner’s advice. She’s told yesterday morning at Sky News that he could always test positive on LFT to avoid coming to PMQs.

VanCleefArpels · 13/01/2022 12:13

One of his siblings
One of his siblings’ children
His Dad
One of his grown up children
One of his grown up children’s partners
Carrie
One of Carries relatives
The Nanny

Oh you lot are sooooo cynical 😉
