What lovely holidays do you have planned over the coming year?

I am really looking forward to going home (I live abroad) for a few weeks in the summertime. We did this last year and it was brilliant. My mum has cancer, and it's really important that we get home if at all possible.

I'd like to get a beach weekend local to us here as well, if possible, to escape the baking heat but we will have to see!

Keeping fingers crossed the pandemic won't come back with another variant and gather speed over summer/ autumn this year, and that people can travel and holiday and spend time with loved ones - where are you planning to go?

Have you booked anything?

Dorset coast for May half term, Greece in the summer and a girls’ trip to Spain. Will also go to London for a weekend at some point.
Making up for lost time. We’ve been abroad once in the pandemic and it was all fine

Wow! We don’t even have 1 holiday abroad a year and I don’t count ourselves as poor, but looking at this thread I feel like we’re in the gutter! 😂

Crispynoodle · 11/01/2022 18:45

Just bookmarking so I can see how the other half lives! Nothing booked yet but hopeful of 1 abroad

Croatia in June with all the (young adult) dc and their partners. Really looking forward to it, it's a new place for all of us.

AyeEee123 · 11/01/2022 19:13

Florida in Easter and Spain in August.

RussianSpy101 · 11/01/2022 19:18

We’ve got France in May, Cape Verde in August, Lanzarote for new year and we’re taking the DC to Lapland in December as a surprise!
Can’t wait.

NeedWineNow · 11/01/2022 19:20

Greece in July, Wales in August and then see where the mood takes us.

MN is not reflective of real life, especially when it comes to overseas holidays. Only on MN do people have multiple foreign holidays each year.
Twilightstarbright · 11/01/2022 19:24

@StrictlyAFemaleFemale would you mind sharing the name of the holiday park? It sounds perfect.

We’ve got a fortnight in Tenerife in Easter hols, trying to figure out what else.

5-6 short trips to the UK (home) throughout the year, restrictions permitting.
Couple of short trips to Spain (my other home) to see my parents.
July - 4 days in New York after a business trip to the Midwest.
August - Planning two weeks in Canada with friends.

UK and Spain I do them for less than £50 each trip as I only pay for cheap flights.
New York I'm only paying for accommodation as I was already flying there either way.
Canada I'll be paying flights only.

That's why I can 'afford' those many trips. Excluding those holidays, I have an odd 20-30 flights planned for work. I'm often in 2-3 countries each month and I'm hoping it increases back to the normal pre-pandemic amount.

DavidSPumpkins · 11/01/2022 19:28

Krakow in March, booked using vouchers from cancelled flights. Can’t wait!!

Thatswhathappens · 11/01/2022 19:29

We were supposed to be going to Spain but dd won’t be double jabbed in time so looking for somewhere in the uk, I’m gutted.

LoveFall · 11/01/2022 19:29

England in May to see our grandchildren after almost 3 years not visiting due to the pandemic. All fingers and toes crossed.

A late Sept. Pacific Coastal cruise return Vancouver, where we live, so no flying. Just a relaxing trip down the coast to California, visiting places like San Diego, and them back home. Fingers and toes crossed times 2.

I feel unbelievably cooped up in our apartment at the moment due to omicron and my CEV state, not to mention cold and snowy weather since Christmas.

AnyFucker · 11/01/2022 19:33

Canaries next week, 3rd time lucky 🤞

Nothing else (yet)

YellowMonday · 11/01/2022 19:37

I have Hawaii booked for May. But I have a feeling it's not going to happen...

Back ups are Whitsundays or Lord Howe Island (I'm in Aus).

PhoboPhobia · 11/01/2022 19:42

We got a caravan last year so we have Canterbury and the New Forest which will be just DH and I.

We’re going to wales in August with adult DD and older teen DS.

We also plan on two long weekends as an extended family which I love.

We have always had at least one foreign holiday most years pre pandemic but we wanted to get a dog so won’t be doing that for a while now. Puppy can come in the caravan and I bloody love it!

CrimbleCrumble1 · 11/01/2022 19:45

Eurostar to Brussels (if we’re all were in)

First time to New York and first time flying business class
Another cruise

We like Lanzarote!

CharSiu · 11/01/2022 19:56

We usually have an overseas holiday but waiting to see how the pandemic is doing. We went to Yorkshire last year and it was lovely a remote cottage near a beach and had a few days on a canal boat, the canal boat was incredibly expensive.

ParkheadParadise · 11/01/2022 19:56

Cyprus in April with DH and Dd

4 days in Dublin with DH for my birthday.

Weekend in St Andrews with my sisters and best friend in May.
