  • Tangle teaser
  • Sellotape on a dispenser
  • Spray mop

Interested to hear others.

Sellotape dispenser here too! (I have 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs).

Chordless vaccuum

1 smart bulb in a lamp in a dark corner but where the plug is behind cupboards - we just tell Alexa to turn it on/off now.

And my knee length Elsa Jacobsen coat - a proper waterproof coat to my knees that is smart enough for work but protective enough for both exposed rainy train platforms by the sea and buses which pass deep puddles at speed and aim splashes at pedestrians on the walk between train and office.

Stealing some of these tips! Especially the coat suggestions.

For me:

Robo Hoover - with two cats, I sneeze much less

Treasure of a cleaner - see above, and worth her weight in gold

Seeing things that irritate me and then chucking away or making better: itchy dress, bin/recycle; three bottles of half used eye makeup remover, donate to DM/bin; hang nail, cut or file down etc. All of the little irritants that present in daily life, I deal with there and then. Not necessarily a 'thing' per se but it's left me feeling calmer. I recommend Smile

The nail kit I use is Sistaco and it is brilliant- never going back to the salon.

lndnbrdge91 · 11/01/2022 16:10

Boring home stuff -
Cordless hoover
Laundry basket for each person in house. I fold their clean washing into the basket

Saves time if I need to find a specific sport item/uniform etc and quicker to take straight to the right room for putting away

muddyford · 11/01/2022 16:12

Jar key. It releases the vacuum so I can unscrew the lid. A pointed hooky thing to remove ringpull lids in a sort of roll.

dementedma · 11/01/2022 17:17

Heated throw
A long thin hot waterbottle, rather than a small square one
Reusable oven liner
Cook bags to go in the slow cooker

EllieSattler · 11/01/2022 17:20

Fussy kids. Doesn't sound easy, but it means they're incredibly happy to eat scrambled eggs or plain chicken and noodles or plain fish and rice or beans on toast (all with plain veg) for every meal. They're nourished, I'm not wasting time prepping complicated meals.

maddy68 · 11/01/2022 17:21

Wear only three colours. No thinking about what goes with what

spagbog5 · 11/01/2022 17:24

Massive house declutter and organised
Makes it so easy to keep on top of everything and it's always tidy - it's taken me years to get it sorted to this stage but so worth it!

Fabulous cleaners

Doing things straight away and not letting jobs build up

MissMarplesGoddaughter · 11/01/2022 17:27

LuluLemon long down filled puffa coat - I am warm and dry in cold weather.
DeLonghi coffee machine - it makes fab coffee any time.
Utility room, all washing stays there
Having the ironing board and iron permanently up in the spare room. It's so quick and easy to iron a few things everyday, so I never have an ironing mountain.

gluenotsoup · 11/01/2022 17:30

A pizza cutter and electric masher. After years of faffing with knives and scissors I now see the need for a pizza cutter, it was an utter revelation 😂. Same with the masher- no bashing and banging, perfect mash with no effort.
Also, an excellent camera, cordless Shark and utility room.
And my duvet- it’s not for everyone but I splashed out on a Hungarian goose down duvet (it’s supposed to be ethically sourced) to replace the sweaty synthetic one. It’s so nice , it’s like sleeping under a cloud 🙂

gluenotsoup · 11/01/2022 17:31

And yes to the Didriksons coat- I love it

Nosetickle · 11/01/2022 17:34

Deleting Facebook
Electric blanket

NinaProudman2022 · 11/01/2022 17:49

2 x pyrex jugs, 3 x kitchen scissors, 3 x Clarins chubby sticks (1 in handbag, 1 in make up bag & 1 spare), 3 x tweezers (as above), magnifying mirror reverted to locking our bedroom door so DD doesn’t go in and remove my things and hide them (which saves time).

llanwrst2 · 11/01/2022 17:51

Catch up tv. No more late nights for any tv show.

Lacedwithgrace · 11/01/2022 18:07

Decent 'loungewear'
Cordless vacuum
Always having pizza in the freezer so we get less takeout

Notreallyawaitress · 11/01/2022 18:14

Frozen mash Grin

Fritilleries · 11/01/2022 18:16

My medel cochlear implant, it's simple to use and has changed my life.

Boood · 11/01/2022 18:23

Bean to cup coffee machine
Freshly squeezed orange juice a couple of times a week
Exercise and yoga
Bamboo socks
Having all the lamps connected to an app so we can switch them all on and off remotely
Alarm clock with sunrise setting so I wake up gradually over half an hour
Linen sheet under the duvet, manages to be cool and cosy as needed

madmomma · 11/01/2022 18:29

For managing executive function issues: a bullet journal and a massive whiteboard in the living room for reminders. For the older kids; an audiobook account to top up their own reading, for food; a rice cooker, a slow cooker, a 2nd slow cooker so I can cook a meat stew and a veggie alternative simultaneously for the vegetarians in the family.

Laiste · 11/01/2022 18:40

The Marie Kondo Japenese tidying up book.

My God.

We're an average household - not horders or anything - but bugger me the AMOUNT of stuff i got rid of. To charity mostly.

Bags and bags and bags of it.
Now i have space and the contents of my drawers are lovely to behold when i pull them open :)

PinchOfVom · 11/01/2022 18:42

My key finder! Amazing!! Every set of cat keys has a Bluetooth tag now and we just phone them - unexpected Christmas hit

PinchOfVom · 11/01/2022 18:42

Car keys not cat

I love my gel nail kit! I was sceptical, but bought it with some birthday money, and am very happy with it.
My kindle.. 100’s of books in a few cm sq of space, no storage issues, and I can buy / download any book I want instantly.
HelloFresh subscription.. not every week, but it’s got me out of a dinner rut, and relieves a large chunk of mental load.
