Robotic vacuum cleaner thoughts?

canary1 · 11/01/2022 07:06

I’m toying with buying one, hoping it might change how irritated I feel when no one but me notices the floor needs vacuuming!
There are so many, some very pricey, others cheaper... does anyone have one and can recommend that type?
Thank so much!

Love ours. Cuts down the work for me. Ours is a Robo but not top range. Use lots. We have a dog so helps with that

This is going to be my treat for myself next year. Hoping to collect amazon vouchers for Xmas/ birthday

I have had my Eufy "Bob" for just over a year now
He does a good 40+ mins still, v easy to clean his bits and he picks up a lot on his travels (we have a lab so lots of hair)

He doesn't get everything and he does get tangled on cables/shoelaces

I would pay a bit more to get one that maps the area and then hoovers it all - ours just bounces about

Also set them on timer to go out daily - I often forget to put him on!

NewYearCalavicci · 11/01/2022 07:20

I love mine ! I have a Eufy 11s .
He just comes on at the same time each day , wanders round ( rather haphazardly) for about a hour the goes back to his kennel docking station. .
There are loads of threads on here about robot vacs have a look for them

Blondeissimo · 11/01/2022 07:21

I bought one in the Black Friday sales and he's ace. Mine is a Eufy 15c max. I still have a 'big' vacuum that I use to do a deep clean and the stairs but the Eufy runs every day and keeps on top of pet hair and general fluff. Highly recommend.

Tenam · 11/01/2022 07:24

It’s definitely worth paying the little bit extra for a eufy rather than an amazon brand. I had a Eufy for years and it was great, got a cheaper one to replace when it developed a fault (still cleaned perfectly but beeped continuously) and the cleaning is just not comparable. It looks like it does the same thing but my floors are nowhere near as clean!

We love our Eufy so much we bought them for both sets of parents for Christmas and they love them too (both have dogs!).

We sent it round most days and if you leave it be it pretty much covers everything, if a little slower and more repetitively than we could. The added bonus is it’s so slim it gets under our sideboard, coffee table etc.

We do have a cleaner once a fortnight and she does a “full” hoover, so edges, skirting boards etc.

AlternativePerspective · 11/01/2022 07:42

I have a eufy 30c and tbh I’m not that impressed with it.

Not bad on hard floors, but on carpet while it picks up a bit for the 1st 5 minutes or so, unless you empty it constantly, so e.g. around every 10/15 minutes it’s really not that great and just moves the dog hair around a bit and you end up with clumps of it all over the carpet.

I imagine if you don’t have pets it might be better, but if you do then I would say it’s not that great.

LadyCatStark · 11/01/2022 07:58

We have a Eufy g30 and he’s brilliant. He goes out every day and picks up so much, especially dog hair. He’s made life so much easier!

Paddingtonsmarmlade · 11/01/2022 07:58

I love rob (eufy 30c) the bin is small and I can imagine would be clogged with a lot of dog hair. I like the magnetic strips that stop it going somewhere. I don’t use the timer function as I have to clear the small toys etc first. It is great for getting small children to tidy up otherwise rob will eat it!

00100001 · 11/01/2022 08:01

We have hard floors all round the ground floor, our little Deebot does a good job.

Lives under the sofa, and comes out at 2am on a timer.

Saves me vacuuming 2+ times day!

HouseOfGoldandBones · 11/01/2022 08:13

I got a Eufy 15C (Rupert) on an Amazon deal last year. Love him.

He doesn't do as good a job as a proper vacuum, but he's good enough for daily, then I whizz round once a week with the "big hoover"

Rupert starts at 6am & is charged again in the afternoon, so I can take him upstairs.

Madhairday · 11/01/2022 08:20

I love our Coredy (also Bob!) - we've had him about six months and he's honestly made life so much easier. I used to get so frustrated with the kitchen and lounge floors getting so messy and me not having energy to hoover and the others not caring or even seeing the mess. Bob picks up pretty much everything. He's not all singing all dancing, he only goes randomly but still manages to get most of the floor done every night (we have him on a timer for the middle of the night) so we come down to clean floors. His tank is always full and it's nice to know that the bit under the sofa isn't gathering inches of dust anymore!
Definitely get one.
I think I'd invest in a more expensive mapping one when I can - ours sometimes misses patches. But it's not a big deal as he gets them the next night.

Keladrythesaviour · 11/01/2022 08:27

Another vote for the Eufy (30c).. We've got all wood downstairs and a dog and he does an amazing job. I love that he can get under the sofas too. I almost never have to do a manual hoover, just wipe down the skirting now and then and mop etc. He is a bigger for getting trapped though. We run him once per day. I dont tend to bother with him upstairs as I find he isn't as good on carpet and we have more level changes that he can't navigate so it's more hassle.

CaptainMyCaptain · 11/01/2022 08:30

Dogs don't like them.

Egghead68 · 11/01/2022 08:32

I wouldn’t be without my roomba

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 11/01/2022 08:33

I love mine, buy the most expensive one you can afford.

They do still need emptying etc. but they are a godsend.

Appalonia · 11/01/2022 08:39

I have one and it's good, but it doesn't hold much dust compared to a normal vacuum cleaner and I have to spend so long untangling the hair from the small mental pole inside that it gets wrapped around, that sometimes I think it's not actually saving me much time!

Boogaloony · 11/01/2022 08:43

I got a Deenkee from Amazon for my birthday and he is brilliant! He's got excellent reviews and I also got a satiate water/soap tank and every few days I C replace his water box with that and he gives the foot a quick wipe over too.

WitchDancer · 11/01/2022 08:59

I got my Eufy in the Black Friday sale on Amazon and love it. It's on a schedule to do it's thing every day and we can leave it to it now we've got the magnetic strips down to prevent it from attacking wires. It's quite horrifying how much it does pick up and we need to remember to empty it every other day, but that's with a cat and a busy family.

SlipperTripper · 11/01/2022 09:23

I love mine. The dogs HATE it. Is a hoover and mop one, and on Amtico floors it works a charm 👍

macshoto · 11/01/2022 09:56

I have a Neato (that maps the floor and shows you what it has cleaned). Wouldn't be without it for my flat.

Justasecondnow · 11/01/2022 09:56

Anyone have a Roborock s6 pure? I’ve wanted a robot hoover for ages. But can never decide which. Maybe this one is the one....

LakeShoreD · 11/01/2022 10:04

We have the Roomba with the self emptying bin. Love it. We used to an Eufy (not sure what model) and it was shit. Couldn’t clean the kitchen because it was too sunny and it’s a vampire apparently.
